when writing a post and make the box bigger by clicking on the maximise box in the top right hand corner.

  • I have just reclaimed a missold ppi from Moneysaving Bank (A&L) for a 3 year personal loan. The amount refunded was £220.20 which was full amount of premiums plus interest. This was painlessly agreed by A&L without any need for Ombudsman intervention.
When I originally took out this loan (as recommended at 5.5% by moneysavingexpert), I was severely hassled by the agent to take out their insurance. I told them over and over that I didn't want it, but they were so insistant and it only added a few pounds to the monthly repayments that I eventually accepted it. After reading the ppi reclaiming section on MSE, and especially as A&L had already been found guilty of this, I downloaded a template, selected the relevant part for me, and sent it off. A&L acknowledged my letter and said they would investigate. I received a further letter several months later saying it was ongoing, then in January they said they had no case to answer and offered me £220.20 in settlement. I signed my acceptance and returned the form to them. Last week, (2 months later) I received my cheque.
Pretty painless really, and well worth doing.
