Loans
Lloyds TSB & Welcome Finance
£26k total
Phone
Thanks Martin and co, you gave me the tools to get back what was rightly mine. I phoned Welcome Finance, got directed to their PPI department had a form sent out which we filled in and returned. 6 weeks later we had a letter confirming that we would be getting £5k paid off the remainder of our loan.
Encouraged by this i phoned LLoyds TSB( using the numbers on this site) , after a couple of other calls from them ( trying to trip me up) they paid out £10.5k to me and £10.5k to my wife for loans going back to and including, 1997.This was just over the 8 week cut off time and i'd just started the Ombudsman process when the cheques landed on the door mat !
It really is straight forward BUT......keep your reasons for wanting to claim simple ( "i was given the impression that i wouldn't get the loan(s) or i'd pay a much higher interest rate if i didn't take out PPI" ), don't get drawn into protracted conversations regarding your reasons for claiming, that is enough and certainly don't use " everyone else is , so i thought i'd have a go" or " MSE says i should" , they will chuck your claim out.
Good luck MSE PPI claimers, make the call and look forward to a very happy new year.
Once more, many thanks to Martin and the crew, we are ever endebted to you !!:T:beer:0 -
Thanks to this Web site and after many doubts in doing this I decided to fish out my old statements for my MBNA credit card and gave them a call stating I would like to claim a refund on the PPI I was sold. It was all done over the phone and 3 weeks later I had a cheque for £135.90 - RESULTS!
Seeing how easy this was to claim I found some other credit card receipts with Nationwide and phoned them up. They sent me a letter and phoned me up and again all was done over the phone. Both Banks were very polite and helpful in the process. I just received a letter from Nationwide stating that they accept my complaint and calculated that I was owed with interest the amount of £2,495.08 for taking that PPI back in Sept.2005...
And now I have to live with the ringing in my ears from my other half:"I told you so" LOL
Thank you Martin for banging on about this.:T:j:beer::rotfl:0 -
so i have sent 6 ppi claim out have been paid back for 2 of them one marbles and one barclaycard. i have two that lloyds keep stalling and have now been told they are now going to take upto 16 weeks.
Two of my claims were with yes car credit. As everyone knows they were a horrible company but were our only choice when we needed a car. we were told over and over that if we didnt have the insurance product we could not have the car. they owe us over 5k not including interest!! had a letter from them today stating that they are not upholding it and reject that it was mis-sold.
because the 2 poilicies were taken out in 2001 and 2003 they say they fall outside of the jurisdiction of the fos.
is it worth continuing? or have they won and they can get away with lying about having to have the policy??
any help greatly appreciated.0 -

Are those the grounds you used with Lloyds?0 -
this ca really help a lot of people. i hope more people can read this. because some of the banks, if they don't know that you know something, they'll just continue want their doing and that is unfair for those people who is having a hard time.0

Hi All,
I've just had a cheque for £1898 for PPI from MBNA. I used Martin's templates and it only took 3-4 weeks. Just waiting on a decision from Lloydstsb TSB credit card now. Fingers crossed

I've been encouraged by reading this forum and today I've sent off 3 questionnaires, 2 to Barclaycard and 1 to HSBC for a Graduate Loan. I've no idea if I've paid PPI, but we'll see.
I bought a car using Yes Car Credit probably in around 2003. I've no paperwork for it though as it was paid off in 2007. Any idea where I start with this claim?0 -
Hi all
Got home from work to find my second upheld letter this time from Shopping Direct for my old Littlewoods catalogue.
Excellent - they say I should get a cheque for just shy of £500 in the next 28 days so hopefully I will have just over £4000 before Xmas. (Still waiting on my cheque from Ocean finance).
I have also written back to Genworth disputing their rejection after help from Di3004 (Thanks Di) so hoping to hear something good from them in the next couple of weeks as well lol.
This is not easy money but if you have a valid claim, do your research, be patient (hard I know) and persevere. There always someone on here willing to give you good constructive advice.
Thanks Guys.0 -

In response to this thread I also had a quick response from MBNA and I only approached them by phone and had a cheque for just over £ 1800.00 in four weeks they seem to be one of the better ones.0
