  • You are being given confused advice here.
You are indeed entitled to cancel the Claims Company at any time, but if your claim is complete then you still have to pay them!
You've signed a legally binding contract with this firm.
You'll have to pay the percentage you agreed to.

Thanks, thought this was the answer, just why Halifax would give such bad advise ??:(

After recieving a letter from Capital One a few days ago to advise that they have a back log and therefore require a maximum of four weeks to investigate my complaint further, I received a letter this morning, attaching my credit card application form from 11 years ago, which does in fact show that I ticked the box to opt into PPI. I genuinely didn't remember if this was the case (as it was from 2001) and did believe that I may have been mis-sold for this..... so, no success story this time, but I think it's reassuring to know that they were able to dig the original documentation out and close the matter in a satisfactory manner. Fair play to Capital One in my case....I expect they took much pleasure in posting my letter as they may have thought I was trying my luck....which I wasn't, just genuinely couldn't remember!!
Good luck to all those out there with their claims.
Thanks to MSE site for all the advice - I did have a refund from another card company for PPI payments and interest for the one year I had the policy, which totalled £432.00...:T
  • Has anyone had any luck / experience trying to reclaim BLRI?

I am trying to help my brother with a claim but I am struggling to see if this policy has the same T&C's as "normal" PPI. I understand normal PPI did not cover self employment however it appears this BLRI has covered most aspects.

Other than the fact they were told it was compulsory are there any other grounds??

Appreciate any advice anyone can give on Business Loan Repayment Insurance.

    Thanks

Most "normal" PPI did cover the self employed. BLRI certainly did cover the self employed as that was the whole point of it as it was tailored more for business people and self employed.

You shouldnt be asking us if you have any grounds for complaint. We dont know your circumstances and what evidence you have. We need to be asking you what your reasons for complaint would be.

  • Hi. I have yet to make PPI claims for a RBS loan, an Egg card loan (taken over by Moorgate) and an Easyjet mastercard credit card (now taken over by Opus). The RBS claim shouldn't be too much of a problem I don't think, but I wonder whether Moorgate and Opus will pay out on PPI sold on the original cards? Any advice please? Thanks.

Any idea how I could get hold of the PPI policy? My husband asked for all the relevant documentation but all they sent was the loan policy. It's the PPI policy I want to see.

  • Have not been on for a while due to various things going on with my family, but had to take two minutes out to report a further success!! Following a successful claim on behalf of my ex for almost £10K, he called me last week with an even bigger payback from RBS/Nat West for almost £18K. He is such a happy bunny and all thanks to Money, Amersall, Di, Dolphin, etc. You guys have been a huge help to a huge amount of people, thank you.
