Been rejected twice by Black Horse on a loan I had for my car. They have told me I have to go to the FOS now, is this true or can I re-open the case with them?

    Many Thanks!

Go to the FOS. They will only re-open the case if you have new evidence, but if you've been sent a full and final response and an ombudsman leaflet, the likliehood of them looking at anything new is slim.

Well my 1st letter had an ombudsman leaflet! I have been rejected saying that they did a demand and needs statement and was sent PPI documents etc...But I got the loan at an Audi garage and PPI was never mentioned. I have no documents they are talking about, so I 100% believe I was mis-sold. I also cancelled it when i relaised I had it!

Yes, but they have refused twice now, and you can't go back again unless you have new evidence which you don't have.
You only have 6 months from the date of the first refusal to go to the FOS so get your skates on :)

  • Hi all,

I claimed for 2 Santander loans I had years ago, 1 in 1999 for £7k and cleared with another loan from Santander in 2001 for £15k all have been paid off now. I recieved a letter from them stating they could not uphold my claim as there was no reason given for the complaint, even though this was done over the phone and I did say on there that I still had the paperwork (luckily) which shows a pre-ticked box on the agreement. Nothing was explained to me which I also stated, It was just there! I keep ringing them every week to see how my claim is progressing and they just say it's being dealt with....how long should I give them and any idea what I should be looking at for a refund (if any)....just so I know if they decide to try to fob me off as I have heard this happens quite often.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice given

  • Thanks to you Martin, finally plucked up the courage to claim on an old loan (Santander) and credit card (MBNA). Both upheld and 3,800 pounds back. 3rd claim in on another loan which waiting to hear back on. :)

    A good christmas present :)

Hi reclaimed money from Citi Financial, would like to know if they have messed anyone else about. I sent of my reclaim pack on 27th Sept 2012 got letter of amount and signed and sent straight back. Just been on phone to them today after the 10-15 working day period only to be told the cheque still not ordered and should be out by the end of this week 3rd November.

Is this the norm for City Financial (could call them something else the way they deal with there customers) and there ppi claim back procedure.

    Hi Buzzly,

I sent a claim off to Citi for C/C PPI on the 1st Sept 2012 - 8 weeks later I had a letter from OPUS (assume they have taken over Citi) claiming they have no record of my wife but DON'T want evidence from a Citi statement but DO want Utility bill evidence from our previous residence that we moved from 4 years ago.......they're having a laff I think. :xmastree:

    Cheers

I only posted what I would do personally. I'm no debt counsellor, though, which is why I suggested the other board.

    Fair point :D

As Taff said, " go to FOS ", it is in your favour that you cancelled this when you realised.
