PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Thanks for the congrats. No I din't have a copy of my agreement, but I wrote asking for details of my loan - if they have a account number they must have some more info surely? Can anyone out there advise?
Hi there, you do not require the paperwork to make a reclaim on the ppi, if you have the account number that will help.
They should be able to track it down with the account number.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

They sent out the questionnaire for me to fill in, but before I'd even filled it in, they contacted me to say that they weren't happy with how they'd handled my complaint and would like to offer me a settlement. It sounds like a good deal - the full PPI, plus interest, plus a courtesy amount on top. I can't help but be suspicious of a bank being so seemingly generous - shall I bite their hands off?
Thanks in advance for any help or advice!
Hi there
It looks like they may have automatically looked into your complaint, this is what the FOS requested the banks/businesses to do.
If they offered you a full refund, ask that they prove you with a written breakdown.
Well done!:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I took this straight to the FOS because this did not seem right. 12 months on just got off the phone to the FOS spoke to a lovely lady who told me that lloyds are now going to make me an offer dont know how much but very happy.I really dont know what lloyds were playing at but so glad i didn't back down:beer: For those claims with the FOS i put mine in mid Nov 2011 so it took just under 12months

Hi I am new to this, but maybe someone could help me. I took out a debenhams store card years ago, I know I paid a protection premium as I found an old statement with it on. I know that I must have cancelled it years later. When I took it out the bank was GE money. I have started to fill in the form from this site, but not sure who I should now send it to, and can anyone give me advise on whether I am just wasting my time.
thanks.0 -
Here again, something I forgot to ask.
Someone told me that sometimes PPI's were hidden in the mortgage repayments if you hadn't taken one out knowingly. This was a way of the bank protecting themselves, and you didn't necessarily know you were paying it, is this correct and if so can you claim this back.
thanks again0 -
My claim was done on the telephone on 11th october, the money was paid into my account today! Absolutely nothing negative to say about RBS at all.
So glad i checked on here about doing it myself too.0 -

Hi guys,
Need some help. Phone up barclaycard tonight to claim back the PPI on a closed credit card. They were happy to process this complaint and then I asked them to make sure the correspondence came to my new address.
They said they couldn't do it on that number and gave me a number which I phoned. On this call, they said they could not change anything without my card details which I no longer have,
Therefore, I won't receive any correspondence they may send me regarding the claim.
What should I do?
Thanks0 -
