Lots of us on here have read all of the success stories and the fact you dont need to use a claim company. What we all need to be doing is spreading the word far and wide at any chance we have.

If we all managed to get one person to claim and even 50% suceeded that would be 10,000s people possibly getting a nice christmas present.:A

After I was successful in May with PPI claim I told my friend so she dug out some old paperwork, put in a claim in September and was successful in October.

Congrats on ure redress. I have successfully claimed from hfc for a second loan with them in 2005. This loan topped up my first loan with them. They said they had no record of first one and if I could give them an agreement they would investigate. I haven't got any agreement and over the phone they said they couldn't help. They could give me an account number but that was it. Did u send an agreement? I can remember how sold etc...

I am in a similar position to you as I had 6 loans (2000 - 2006) all part of a consolidation chain upheld but was advised there were 2 previous loans not considered from 1996 & 1997. I sent off the Subject Access Request (SAR) letter from this site and was sent 2 loan agreements 1994 & 1997 and for the loan in 1996 was sent a payment schedule with page 1 missing. I submitted a further PPI claim and sent in the details I had received but have still been rejected on insufficient information. Basically they want loan agreements & proof of payment for the loans where they no longer hold details. I have wrote back to the SAR team querying the missing information and have given them 2 months to reply. If I receive it I will forward to the bank asking them to reconsider, if not I have nothing to lose by submitting complaint to FOS. I was definately missold for several reasons and would have been happy with a goodwill payment.

Thanks for the congrats. No I din't have a copy of my agreement, but I wrote asking for details of my loan - if they have a account number they must have some more info surely? Can anyone out there advise?
  • I wrote a letter of complaint to Littlewoods and within two weeks I had every penny of PPI returned back to me. In total, some £200.

Currently in talks with Bank of Scotland over a loan which I took out that had PPI automatically added to it - I thought it was part of the loan!
Hi, I have just successfully had my PPI claim from Nationwide building society. All I need to do to have my claim refunded is to pop into any branch of Nationwide for them to witness my signature and provide them with a valid driving licence or passport as proof of my I.D. My passport has expired and I don't drive. They say I need to update my signature in order to recieve my money but I suspect that they are using this as a way out of not paying it back. They have given me 28 days. I suspect they knew my passport was out of date as I have used it in the past as I.D with them. I am fuming because a) they admited they mis-sold me PPI and b) they have found a loophole to get out of paying it back. Can anyone suggest the fastest way to provide them with I.D? I've just shelled out on passport photo's, I'm thinking? provisional license? (I don't even want to learn to drive at 44)! I don't really belive my I.D is an issue as they have accepted that they are in the wrong, my wage gets payed to them, I had a mortgage with them, I had a credit card with them and I have a loan with them and when that is payed back, God help me, I will move to any bank going! Nationwide have turned from great to scum in the last decade!
  • Hi all, hope this is the right place to post. I contacted my bank and registered a complaint about the PPI on the loan I'd taken out with them. They sent out the questionnaire for me to fill in, but before I'd even filled it in, they contacted me to say that they weren't happy with how they'd handled my complaint and would like to offer me a settlement. It sounds like a good deal - the full PPI, plus interest, plus a courtesy amount on top. I can't help but be suspicious of a bank being so seemingly generous - shall I bite their hands off?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

    bite hands off.
Sounds like they either knew it was sold wrongly, or you're under the payout threshold.
Well done, have a nice christmas :)

And how annoyed would you be if someone who said they were you went in a signed a piece of paper and nicked your money? And how would they know your passport is out of date? Have they broken into your home and rifled through your papers?

Go in, explain to the person on the help counter you still bank with them, show them your cards [I assume you have some since your wages go in there] give them an example of your signature and ask them to check it against anything they have for you.

Just because your passport has expired does not make it invalid just not useable for travelling. Take it in a see what they say, if they reject it say you'll need longer to provide id while you renew it.

  • 12 months ago my claim for ppi got upheld by lloyds tsb because they were inundated with claims they told me that i needed to sign the acceptance form if i was happy and they will go ahead and calculate how much i was to get refunded. 3 weeks later they wrote back to me to tell me that i did not have ppi on my 2 credit cards after all if i could provide them with the paperwork to prove otherwise they will investigate it further they new full well i had no paperwork, it was initially a phone enquiry which they told me i did have ppi on these cards. I took this straight to the FOS because this did not seem right. 12 months on just got off the phone to the FOS spoke to a lovely lady who told me that lloyds are now going to make me an offer dont know how much but very happy.I really dont know what lloyds were playing at but so glad i didn't back down:beer: For those claims with the FOS i put mine in mid Nov 2011 so it took just under 12months
