.......oops forgot to say, funnily enough I am dealing with Genworth as well at the moment, in regards of GE Cap Bank, the FLA are looking into it as well, but there was no problem with the FLA with me dealing with the underwriter at the same time, just in case.

Hi Di, i wrote to shop direct but no luck.Ombudsman say they are dealing with underwriter (who i forget).Goes back to 1995, as does Genworth. I did get a letter from Genworth requesting evidence from Santander of start and cancellation date which i managed to get and forward on ... i will wait and see. Sent copy to ombudsman too as they are dealing with both cases.

They are not the easiest really, it appears that Littlewoods/shop direct have rejected a number of reclaims this week.

I am not 100% but thought Littlewoods insurer/underwriter was Norwich Union, but if you contact/email littlewoods, they should confirm this to you as you have that right.

Going back to Genworth, it was Santander that dealt with my GE Cap bank complaint, that was going back into the 90's x

  • Well, hopefully the ball has started rolling for me with my claims. A small amount of progress, but progress nonetheless....sent my claims in by Recorded Delivery so maybe that's helped speed things along...?

Barclays Banks (Masterloan) - they signed for my claim form on 02/10/12, I received an acknowledgement letter on 06/10/12 with a promise of a reply or update within 8 weeks.

Lombard (Royscot Financial Services) - they signed for my claim form on 09/10/12 and I received an acnowledgement letter today, 12/10/12, promising an upate or a full response within ten working days.

Universal Credit -Not a peep yet, unsurprisingly....

    UDATE ON ABOVE...

Barclays Bank (Masterloan) - still within the 8 week period so no further communication as yet...

Lombard (Royscot Financial Services) - received a letter today stating that they are unable to locate any details relating to the signed agreement which I sent with the HSE questionaire form and, as the loan was settled circa 1998, there will no longer be any records held relating to my agreement. They say this is their final response...

Universal Credit - following a letter last week claiming the loan did not have PPI & therefore they were not reponsible for selling us PPI, I received a letter today stating that yes, they did sell us PPI & their claim that we did not have PPI was an 'oversight' on their part & 'this oversight has been raised with the manager concerned'. It went on to say that, as the policy was taken out in 1992, it fell within a 'non-regulated environment' and there was 'no requirement to verbally discuss the details of the insurance. They say this is their final reponse...

Can anyone offer any constructive advice as to whether there is any way forward for me...?

I feel quite downhearted tonight as I firmly believe I have a valid case against both these companies...:(

Stu1960, apologies, poor use of vocabulary.

I have done both my research and have compiled evidence to support.

I certainly didn't intend to mislead with my story. I guess that speculative was based on my confidence in my facts and situation. Not that I was being a chancer.

Happy to remove the post if you deem it misleading to the majority.

Actually - I've just removed it, I am upset that I've given the wrong impression.

    Thanks

    Janey, apologies not necessary.

Sent a fos form off to hfc bank regarding my GM card, 6 weeks ago, said I was told to have the card/ppi as part of buying a new car, all I had was the account number, today I get a letter offering £998, with full breakdown from 1994 to 2000 (when I closed the account),
Happy days :T brings my total to over £10k so far, most of it from the 1990's and I thought I would not get anything back, can't thank the people on this site enough :T:T:T
  • Hi

Hope someone can advise. I recently complained to the Halifax about missold PPI on my mortgage, the bank have agreed ti refund me 4365.00, however when I have recieved a breakdown of what I am getting. The letter also shows I have critical illness cover of which I have no memory of aggreeing to. apparently I had two elements of cover, PPI and critical illness cover. I always had one payment leave my account.
