Well done for your pay out .

And don't get upset , i would say even you if you have all the evidence in the world you was mis -sold or very little both to
me are speculative claims. ive seen people with all the evidence
in the world get rejected but on the other hand people who had
very little who seem to get paid out. Its the luck of the drawer
    i believe.

dont take it to heart my firend.

Bathanwells thank you for that. Much appreciated.

I appreciated the comment by Stu1960, and on consideration would most certainly not want to mislead. I was upset that I had embarrassed myself :o

Stu1960 makes a valid point regarding chancers having a go with no evidence. I don't think we can do anything to avoid that, and it may well be they clog the system, every claim has to be dealt with.

In life there are plenty chancers "having a go" and those with valid cases can be too scared to try. I am late to proceedings, because I was scared/unsure to put forward my case. You can sometimes I think feel a little overwhelmed by making a claim and indeed taking on such financial institutions can be intimidating.

I wanted to indicate to people the "nothing ventured/nothing gained" adage.

To clarify, I have various claims, I procrastinated for some time, I made the first claim recently and I have for this first claim been successful.:)
  • What were you reclaiming: Credit Card
    Who was the provider: MBNA
How much did you get back: £1193
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 2 phone calls to freephone number.

Last Tuesday I phoned MBNA with regard to an old Abbey CC which ran from 2001-2008. The CC was opened in branch when it was launched in Sept 2001. I was advised that I would receive acknowledgement of my complaint within 5 days. Having not received anything through yet, I have just phoned. Lady I spoke to apologised that I had not received my acknowledgement, but she did have good news for me. My claim was upheld yesterday and I would receive my cheque for £1193 within 28 days!! Cannot believe how easy it was and had I not been lurking around MSE for several weeks I would never had bothered to complain to MBNA. Thank you to all those who share their PPI complaints on MSE, without them I wouldn't be able to have a stress free Christmas for the first time in many years xx
  • After sending away my questionnaires to both MBNA for a closed cc and Virgin cc, I was pleased to receive a letter telling me both complaints had been upheld! Cheques arrived a few days later. All done without any problems in 2 weeks. Would totally recommend that people do the same if they feel they have been misold PPI and more importantly, do it yourself, is so worth it when you get your money back ;-) :D

What were you reclaiming: Ppi on bank loans
    Who was the provider: RBS
How much did you get back: £7141
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: one phone call

I am stunned, i applied for 2 loans, actually only one of them i said had been missold but the chap said to apply for both. I called maybe 10 days ago, and have 4 seperate offers from the bank.

Just received a cheque today for £4004 for a ppi claim I had a advance on morgage 21 years ago (1991) for £3070 the advance was for 3 years of the morgage paying between £18.00 and £21.00 a month ppi which we didnt have any choice if we wanted the advance our morgage also increased by £100.00 a month. so we payed this for what we thought was for 3 years the lenght of the advance but infact it carried on for 7.5 years the morgage decrease after the 3 years but the ppi carried on unbeknown to us untill 1998 when i approached the bank to see if they could reduce our payments, the lady said straight away we can take this ppi of straight away it dos not cover you for anything its pointless and we had actually payed it for 4.5 years longer than we should.Due to circumstances i was just happy that the morgage had been reduced and never thought anything else about untill now. So can anyone tell me if this is a good deal cause they have just sent a cheuque and do i get 8% interest for 21 years.

Going by the £21.00 a month for 90 months that you did, this gives you PPI back of £1,890 that you paid, the remainder will be the 8%, the 8% is on a decreasing scale from the date you started paying the PPI to the day they redress you, the nearer the redress date you get, the less the 8% is paid, they should send the calculations to you, if they don't, then ask them for it.

Im now 39 years old and have had a bank loan with Lloyds TSB since I left school. Every year or two, I have re-financed these loans to incorporate credit card debt and cost of living etc.

I have always paid PPI as I had brain surgery seven years ago and was concerned of a re-occurance in my condition and felt it was important to be covered in case I was ever out of work. However I recently found out that the first time I re-financed a loan, my brain condition infact became a pre-existing condition.

I want to thank you Martin Lewis and his website as without you and your format, I'm not sure I would be in the position I currently find myself in. I filled in the form and sent it to Lloyds TSB and got the standard receipt letter from them over six weeks ago. I received the final settlement letters last Thursday and if you add them all up (all 11 accounts), the total amount that I am being paid back is £18,896.42!!!!!

I have called the bank today for a settlement quotation on my loan and it is £15,090.29. I will be debt free by the end of the day with some left over for spare.

You have changed my life so much and I cannot thankyou enough!!!!Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou.

    Christy

Your welcome, welcome ,welcome :rotfl::rotfl: congrats
