I am just completing the the payment protection insurance: consumer questionnaire. Anyone got any advice as to what to enter for section E. We cant remember how the PPI was sold to us, also what do we write for why we are unhappy? Any advice gratefully received. Thanks x0

Posted claim mid September and I estimated I had paid about £1900 in PPI based solely on latest PPI amount * 84 (7 years worth). Letter acknowledged on 17th.
Got a letter on 20th October saying “Unfortunately, we confirm that we are unable to uphold your complaint”, thinking I would have to go to the ombudsman.I carried on reading the letter only to find it then said “Notwithstanding the above, and without prejudice, a decision has been made to refund all remaining PPI premiums.”.
Anyone had something similar happen to them?
In total they will be refunding me just over £3.5k, all I have to do is send of the acceptance letter.
I had the exact same letter from them and like you, I first thought that I would be going to FOS with my claim, but read on to see that they were giving me back my moneyI got just under £400 from them, but then I really didn't think I would get anything back without having to go to FOS, so I was happy. I sent my acceptance letter back the same day.

Am in the process of claiming back PPI on this Credit Card which was paid off in 2006.
I am new to this and it may be a silly question but on the credit card statements each month they were putting two amounts on the credit card for PPI one for approximately £70 and another for approximately £30 (the amounts differed slightly each month) - Does anybody know why they would put it through as two amounts each month and why would the amounts differ slightly each time?
PPI is only charged on credit cards monthly, and the amount is dependent on what you owe.
Are you sure it was two lots of PPI and not one lot of PPI and an amount for interest?Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

if you are claiming back the PPI then surely you must know why you are unhappy! No-one can answer your question for you as everyone's situation is different.
Why are you re-claiming? why do you think it was mis-sold to you?
The answers to these questions would be what you would put.0 -

The truth is best. Say you cant remember how it was sold to you. Telling lies can do more damage to your complaint if you get it wrong.
You should also tell them why YOU are unhappy unless you intend on making a fraudulent complaint.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Sent off a letter some 3 weeks ago enquiring whether PPI had been applied to any of our past loan accounts. The PPI insurance was something that had been discussed when we took out the loans, but we had always declined to have it, but I thought I would just check. Lo and behold we discovered that the insurance had actually been added to 5 of our previous loan accounts, some going way back some 18 years. Absolutely furious I wrote to Nat West and asked for it back, very politely I might add. Didn't hold out much hope but :Twhoop, whoop, got 2 letters yesterday offering us over £6k on two of the accounts. Hopefully there is more to come. Can't believe that Nat West was so sneaky as to add this insurance when we said we didn't want it.
You guys out there, even if you don't think PPI was applied to your loans, please check. All it took for us was one letter to find that they had deceived us and robbed us of a lot of money. Go for it guys, we did and what a result!! Happy days.0 -
I claimed for mis-sold PPI for a personal loan I took out over 10 years ago. It was from Halifax, and I sent them a form generated from the moneysavingexpert.com website.
I found some paperwork at my parents home relating to a loan I took out to buy a car when I was in my early twenties, the paperwork showed that PPI was indeed on it. I wasn't sure if my claim would be valid because it was over ten years ago, but I sent the form to Halifax anyway. It cost me £1.47 in recorded delivery costs, and a few hours going through the form making sure that I had all the right information.
They responded by stating that a resolution would happen within 8 weeks, more than 8 weeks past and I phoned up Halifax giving my claim reference number, the staff in this particular department are not very professional sounding in my opinion, they will try and fob you off, but it's worth perservering. I called the Financial Ombudsman and got through to a young woman who explained that the claim could go either way but they sent me a form. Then another gentleman from Halifax called me up and asked for some clarification of my claim. I tried to be as susinct as possible and refer as much as possible to my original claim. 2 days later I received a cheque for £1400 which was the full money paid for PPI plus 8% interest.
It certainly helped that I had the paperwork and all the evidence to hand to send in my form, I'm not sure how easy it would have been if I didn't have the information available maybe someone else can reply to show how easy it is to claim without it.
The process took about 3 1/2 months but the money is here 4 weeks before my new baby is due. Result!0
