PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

I sent off a copy of a loan agreement i had with Black Horse which was cleared in 2004 - it had ppi, which i was told i needed to take, hence my claim. They replied within the week to say they can' t find my details. I have no other documents relating to this and have moved bank.
I thought a copy of the original loan would be sufficient.
Any ideas?
The original agreement will only show the PPI on the loan, it will not show if you actually paid this PPI as it could have been cancelled or settled early.
They maybe cannot find details of this loan due to the year, if the agreement has the account number on then you could do a Sar request to see if this throws anything up but it will be a long shot.

Please can anyone help with this?
Just finished a phone call with Barclaycard who took over Goldfish. I submitted a claim for PPI in August and along with the claim sent a copy of the Goldfish credit card statement showing the PPI payment. They have advised they are unable to locate a policy in my name, and that they would be happy to reopen the case if I am able to supply further details. I mentioned that I had already sent a copy of a statement with the original claim! I am going to resend this..has anyone else experienced this,? also if they still say they cannot locate the policy after showing them proof of payment can they reject the claim again on the same grounds?Debt at Sept 2006 £63,500:eek:
Debt at Sept 2012 £24,400
DFD Dec 2012! (if PPI claims come in) !!

Yes they did a similar thing to me! My account with the PPI on it was blocked and they couldn't find it so closed down the claim! After many calls between Littlewoods (who card was issued by) & Barclaycard they managed to find it! They apologised and admitted it was their fault and have now placed it in their "Re work" queue. The 8 weeks are now up but they are saying it now has no time limit!! Very frustrating indeed!:j:D:rotfl::T:):A0 -

they have done exactly the same to me, saying i didn't have PPI even though i attached a statement, it took 3 phone calls to get it reworked. Having seen quite a few posts about this now I am beginning to believe they are doing it on purpose as I was told even though it is their error there is no time limit and if I am not happy go to the FOS. It seems they are getting round the 8 weeks by deliberately making mistakes!!!!!0 -
Egg have upheld my claim, woohoo!
Letter received today confirming £3.5k to be repaid. Herre's hoping for a quick turnaround with the cheque though I'm not holding my breath on that one.
Thank you Martin and everyone on this forum. Your encouragement was a huge help.

The seller is still liable for the sale of the policy. However,if your complaint is successful, then the redress payment can go against any amount they wrote off as part of the transfer to the collection agency with any surplus then going against the debt at the collection agency.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
