Hi everyone,
The stalking of the Postman begins...8 weeks are up next week :j
I'm hoping for some good news for a change
Wish me Luck
I'm really annoyed with Barclaycard and their whole "Re work" system and given that it was their mistake in the first place!! They haven't been very helpful at all
I suppose I will have to wait patiently for that one.
Good Luck to everyone else who are just starting the process and those who are waiting like me:j:D:rotfl::T:):A0 -
Hi I had a call today from BOS regarding my claim they asked me if I could remember the conversation at the time of my loan, I said at this moment in time I could not remember what was said as this was 7 yrs ago. Did I say the right thing or should I have said that I was advised that I had to take out PPI with the loan as I could well have been
You told the truth, see what they come back with.0 -

hi, they have done the same to me, they wrote saying i had no PPI even though i attached a statement clearly showing the payments, i called and they said our error will reopen, called a few days later and it hadnt been opened, called a few days later and still not reopened...... am now being reworked despite it never being worked and apparently no time limit now even though it is their fault :mad::mad:0 -
Well, hopefully the ball has started rolling for me with my claims. A small amount of progress, but progress nonetheless....sent my claims in by Recorded Delivery so maybe that's helped speed things along...?
Barclays Banks (Masterloan) - they signed for my claim form on 02/10/12, I received an acknowledgement letter on 06/10/12 with a promise of a reply or update within 8 weeks.
Lombard (Royscot Financial Services) - they signed for my claim form on 09/10/12 and I received an acnowledgement letter today, 12/10/12, promising an upate or a full response within ten working days.
Universal Credit -Not a peep yet, unsurprisingly....0 -
Success!!! I sent of 4 complaints back in August.
One was to Egg and they paid me £2203.
The other 3 were to HSBC, and whilst they have rejected one of the complaints, they have upheld the other 2 and offered £643 and £4.7k for them. I'm delighted!
All I used was the FSO form downloaded from MSE - so much more straightforward than I thought it would be!0 -

Update: Received an acknowledgement letter/complaint closed letter today, five days after Universal Credit signed for my complaint form. They state "I have reviewed the above account and can confirm that the loan did not have the benefit of Payment Protection. This is our final response & we consider your complaint closed".
Eh, which part of 'Protected Payment Premium - £946' did they not see on the copy of the loan agreement I sent them???
They have suggested that, if I'm still not happy, I should contact the FLA. So....can anyone here advise me if I should a) write them again, highlighting the Protected Payment Premium, b) write to the FLA or c) go for the Ombudsman option (bearing in mindthis loan was taken out in 1992? Or all three?
Grrr, how can they pretend it's not there, on a signed Loan Agreement?? :mad:0 -

You cannot go to the ombudsman. You can go to the FLA but they are not as generous as the FOS. Maybe at this stage provide a copy of the agreement and say "here is the PPI premium". However, that only shows you paid it. Not that anything wrong took place. If your complaint is a verbal unprovable allegation then you expect rejection anyway. If you have some evidence or a factual wrongdoing and not one relying on heresay then you have a stronger case.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I've just had a rejection letter from MBNA. They enclosed the application form for the credit card I took on where it shows that I ticked a box to get PPI insurance. The box says, "We Strongly recommend taking out PPI." They claim that because I ticked the box I actively chose to purchase PPI and they did not offer any advice about its purchase. In other words mine was a non advised sale. They also say that this is their final response to my complaint and should I wish to take it further I should do so with the Financial Ombudsman service. They then provide all the details for me to contact the FOS.
Anyone know where this leaves me? Anyone had a similar reply but then pursued it and came out on top? What should my next move be? Complain to them further or go to the FOS?0 -

They were sent a copy of the Loan Agreement with my initial (template) letter of complaint, so it's there in black and white. However I have sent another copy of the same Loan Agreement today, with highlighter pen through the Protected Payment Premium and the £946.
There was no 'verbal unprovable allegation'. They offered us (by post) a loan to consolidate any other debts plus the existing loan we already had with them, sent us several copies of the loan agreement with the figures all pre-populated, and asked us to sign and return a copy 'immediately, within four days'.
This was a company whose monthly payments for the loan were £193 and who added on interest of £130 - £145 on a monthly basis. Only clearing £50 or £60 of the £8800 loan each month would have taken us the rest of our lives to clear.
We were young and stupid and in debt, but I will fight this company to the ends of the earth, and all the other companies who preyed on the desperate. The stress of debt contributed to my husband losing his life, at only 52, eighteen months ago so I'm doing this for both of us.0
