  • Can I just thank this wonderful site for helping me and a very successful outcome.
    • What were you reclaiming: PPI Credit card
    • Who was the provider: MBNA
    • How much did you get back: £12,554,21
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: One letter
    • And then write your brief reclaim tale: Opened a credit card account with MBNA in 1997, did not have a clue whether PPI was applied or not, after hearing a friend successfully claiming I decided to have a closer look at my statements. Shocked I realised I was being charged for PPI on a monthly basis. The reasons for my complaint centred around having good redundancy protection & sick pay with my company. At no point was PPI explained to me at the time of opening the account although I did not pleed ignorance as an excuse.
    • Sent my intial complaint on 14th September, recieved a letter stating it would be investigated on the 24th September, and on 27th September it was upheld. I have been told I will recieve a cheque within 28 days.
Reading this forum has given me the advice and information I needed to post that important letter, thanks once again..
  • New here :) Does anyone have an up-to-date mailing address for Universal Credit Ltd (formerly Greencoat Place, London SW1P 1PL) as I need it to send in a PPI claim?

Also, does anyone have any information on a company called Royscot Financial Services Lts (formerly George House, North HanoverStreet, Glasgow G1 2NY), ie parent company, current address etc.

Sorry to come in with loads of questions on my first visit but I'm hoping someone can help :)

Posted claim 17th September and I estimated I had paid about £1400 in PPI. Got a letter yesterday dated 1st October saying my claim had been upheld and that I had actually paid £1184.73 in premiums but as a result of them using the FSA guidelines the total refund payable is £1914.53 and that this would be paid into the Barclays account I used to make the DD payments on the loan. At that point I though, OK few weeks and I’ll get my money. Imagine my surprise when I went into my online banking this morning to find the money had been credited to my account on 1st, same day as the letter was produced.

First time poster in this thread, but have been watching and learning from others.

Basically, 8 weeks ago i did some digging, knowing that i'd had 6-7 loans with Natwest starting from 2000-2007 (they were all 'topped-up' or consolidated into the next loan). I had no loan agreements or even loan numbers, but i pursued it anyway, knowing that at least some of these had PPI...

I requested the info from Natwest, they sent me details of the loans and marked those which had a PPI premium attached. (no figures of the actual PPI amounts or anything).

I then called the PPI team and gave my reasons (i was never fully given the details of the PPI and the benefits to me, and had i known these, i would never have taken the policy out, and, i felt it was indicated to me on numerous occasions that i stood a better chance of being accepted should i take out the PPI, as i'm less of a risk). 15 minutes after giving her all the account numbers and reasons, that was teh case opened.

A week later i receive the acknowledgement letter. My stalking of mr postman began :)

I wasn't sure if i would even get anything back, unsure if my reasons for misselling were valid enough - and even if i was successful, was unsure of how much i would get.

Then, yesterday, 6 weeks and 3 days since my initial complain, a thick letter appeared on the doormat.

I opened, to read that they accept my reasons, and were willing to make an unconditional offer of £5700.

    I nearly collapsed!

Then, my amazement continuned as i waded through the thick pile, to only realise there were SIX of these letters in total, of which the combined amount is a simply staggering £15,280!!!!

So happy. You could argue that my sheer financial stupidity caused this in the first place, but, now engaged and living in our lovely new home with no debt (other than our mortgage), this is such a great surprise. We can now pay for our wedding etc. without fear of the cost.

Thanks to everyone for posting on here, it makes great reading and is really helpful for us 'lurkers' on the forum! :)

So to add to this, another 2 letters appeared yesterday, adding another £800 to the total haul.

This means i've now gotten an incredible £16000 back from RBS/Natwest...... thanks everyone!

    Me again,

I wrote just over a week ago saying I was still waiting for my Egg cheque that I had sent back the agreement for in early August but I'm still waiting - the post has just been and nothing still. And of course I can't get hold of anyone on the phone cos they've taken that option away. I've emailed Egg and Citi but one email addressed bounced and the other one has gone unanswered.

And I'm still waiting on an announcement from Capital One despite them now having taken 12 weeks from my initial contact and acknowledgment from them.

    Hi all
I have submitted a written complaint to egg reference the ppi on a loan I aplloed for in 2005. A 10k loan that I didn't know until 2 wks ago had ppi on. I have complained that when I applied online the ppi must have been included in the calculations and according to a statement was front loaded. I also founf out that until 2007 the ppi box online was pre ticked with applicants having to untick the box to opt out. The FSA ruled this was bad practice and egg had to change it. I am doubtful the complaint will be upheld on this basis but I simply didn't realise I had it!

Anyone had A success after a similar occurence with egg? Or can they confirm the pre ticked box was upheld as a reason for misselling?

    Just don't trust them!! :j

Well - i have just had a telephone call from the guy in the investigations department (is this normal). He seemed to concentrate on the armed forces and would i go to a war zone etc. I reiterated that on the armed forces loans these were single upfront PPI, did not need the insurance and infact did not know it was on there. The big one i reiterated it was an upfront again, did not need it due to position within work and also that i was told it was a prerequisit of getting accepted.

So so far 4 weeks since initial call, acknowledgemetn letter within 4 days, return phone call from the investigator.

Told i would get a letter within 2-3 weeks of the outcome so fingers crossed.

Pretting simple so far - keep thinking though with my luck it will not be upheld - so lets hope not.

well just checked my account and Lloyds have just paid 9726 into my account for PPI refund.

    Research on here
1 visit to bank to get loan numbers
    1 phone call to them
    1 investigation call from them
    7 weeks

    repayment £9276

Simples - thanks MSE and Lloyds.
