  • Hi all,
I submitted 4 complaints about missold PPI about 6 weeks ago - 1 to Egg and 3 to HSBC. Heard back from Egg on Wednesday with an offer for £2.2k which I have accepted (with ill concealed glee I have to admit!), and am now sitting patiently by the letterbox waiting to hear back from HSBC.

The loans and credit card were taken out years and years ago, so to be fair I was hazy on the exact detail, but did say on my complaint that I was told I couldn't have the credit if I didn't have the insurance.

I know they've got a couple more weeks to come back to me, but does anyone have any tales of success or failure with HSBC? Will they drag their heels or ask for more info?

    Thanks!

Hi, I put an initial complaint in to The Mortgage Business on 6th June, I received a letter on 8th August from Bank of Scotland advising that they are looking into the complaint.

Should I chase it up now or 8th September? Does the 8 weeks response limit start from the initial date of complaint or from the date they acknowledged my complaint?

    Many Thanks.

It's been 12 weeks, and todays date is September 15th. Are you in a time warp? :)
    Yes, chase it up.

  • Two weeks ago I thought I'd try to claim back some ppi on my cards and loan. Wasn't even sure if I had ppi on my Nationwide loan, but used the template letter sent it off and got a letter today to say they are going to repay £3000!!! Can't believe it, just waiting to hear back now from my credit cards.

So pleased I didn't go through a ppi claim company, it's so easy. Thank you money saving expert!

    Hi Amersall,
Thank you for answering my post.i will look on experian and see if there is a 4 digit number, failing that, should I still write and ask them if they have info for 2009, , when I asked for the SAR are they legally required to give me info for last 6 years,
I also have my bank statements on line with the direct debit to alliance and Leicester and the amount would this carry any weight, I think I was paying approx £90 a month in ppi for 5 years it s a lot of money
    Thanks again for any help

Hi just looked on experian and there is no account details, should I try other credit agencies to see if their are any account details,
They have cashed the 10pound cheque yesterday , after sending me a letter saying their wasn't enough info, can they do this?
And I have proof of a direct debit coming out of my royal bank account as I looked at my statements online from 2005-2009 although it doesn't give account details it definately says ALPF on the direct debit, any advice would be most welcome again thanks stevo
  • I would like to thank Martin, creators of this website, for giving me the confidence to persue my PPi claims.

I recentley received a successful upheld notification from NRAM and they have awarded me £2,654 :jfor ppi I paid on a mortgage between 2002 & 2008 (65 months).

    Refund of premiums = £1,659
    8% simple interest = £995

Could someone please explain how the 8% simple interest is calculated?

    Thanks
