  • Egg Loan 1 PPI Claim - £2,215.90 (Settled 2009 & used MSE template) :D
    Egg Loan 2 PPI Claim - £443.54 (Settled 2009 & used MSE template) :D
    Tesco CC PPI Claim - £1,939.04 (Settled July 2012 & used FOS Q'airre) :D
    Co-Operative/NR CC PPI Claim - £6,318.81 (Settled & used FOS Q'airre) :D

Have to say both Tesco and Co-operative Credit Card (previously Northern Rock) kept me informed at every stage and responded in 8 weeks from my sending the FOS Q'airre in.

Have had a mare getting information out of Capital One, MBNA, RBS and Egg even with SAR requests, but received everything eventually. However, saying that I rang them all to request a copy of my PPI policy and T&C which was missing from the SAR and they have all agreed to send them to me by post today or in the next 7-10 days. I have requested these as I feel happier personally sending a copy with the FOS Q'airre as evidence as my claims are based on pre-existing medical conditions and was told i was covered only to discover when off work in 2007 after back surgery that I wasn't.

My advice is, do persevere, dont get a company to do it for you, put the claims in yourself. It does take a bit of time and can be a bit daunting ,but the guidance/help /support on MSE is beyond brilliant.

Next PPI claims for me are:

    MBNA Credit Card x 3
    Egg Credit Card
    RBS Credit Card
    Capital One Credit Card
    Barclay Card x 3

A HUGE thank you to MSE as I would have been lost without your support and guidance.
  • Hi, I have just been offered £6,300 ish pounds from the HSBC for charging me ppi without me needing it on 3 occasions. For years i have thought they were a compulsory element of all loans due to how they have been sold to me - i went on to cop for ppi on my mortgage, tv, boiler, and had RBS card with it on also - due to some box i didn't untick or somehing. I have only just got started on claiming these back
Anyway, i have had some success (i think) with hsbc so far...
They offered redress on the first loan (2,544 plus interest of 1773)
557 on the second (with 424interest) and 551 on the third wih 471 interest. Interest is calculted at 8%. They offered £6322.81. I hope i am not just being greedy but i was kind of expecting more. As i explained in the letter to them, these debts were all rolled up into the third loan - which finally ended up in my mortgage (which is also with hsbc now, but was once with west brom who included ppi in my mortgage for free for six months which surely can't be right). I am so pleased to have finally been offered my money back but i am not sure it has been looked into correctly either.Shall i just accept the redress or pursue further? can the settlement be taken back if i go to the ombudsmen?Any help welcome. Thanks

  • Just received cheque for £10106 from Lloyds Tsb for PPI paid on various loans.
All we did was download the complaint letter from Lloyds website and send off ,we had no documentation, we had a reply with one week, and within a month an offer which we accepted, all it took was 10mins and a postage stamp, Success!!!:j

    Black Horse loan 2003
claimed 3600 on 15 July, filled in their form but after reading the ins and outs on here we decided 2 things:
1 Ring them every 3 days
2 Add the fact that the loan was "front loaded / single premium"

Wifey rang them yesterday, was told that the claim has been upheld and we will get a letter stating such within the next ten days, after that we will get an offer letter within 10 working days.
When we have accepted the offer (if good enough) we will have a cheque within 30 days.

Hope this Helps, keep at the b******s, that seems to be the key.

    Mik

Congratulations, Black Horse sent me a rejection letter a few week ago, so i sent one back saying i wasnt happy with there decision, they are going to look into it again but just expecting same decision. I just wondered could you take your complaint to ombudsman if you weren't happy with the outcome or was it finance and leasing association? Mine is from 2004 and it say finance and leasing, not sure what to do about it if i do get another rejection letter because from what i have read, fla dont really make any difference.

With consolidation loans, when you settle each loan they give you a rebate of the PPI, your redress will be the total PPI payment less the rebates.
If I were you, I would pay some off the mortgage as you will pay extra interest on this, if you want to spend spend spend:D:D then do that.

Ask them for a breakdown and you will see what they have done.
  • Hi , I wrote to Santander on 22nd of Aug, to look at reclaiming ppi for a loan (alliance and leicester)I took out in June 2004 and ended June 2009. I sent them a SAR after finding out the date on my experianaccount. I don't have a account number.
I received a letter back today basically telling me I haven't given them enough info and in accordance with section 7(3) of the data protection act 1998 Santander uk plc is not obliged to comply with your request unless you have provided enough information that enables them to locate the data subject and the account data you seek.
That's why I sent the reaquest to find out,, any advice please to take this forward many thanks. Stevo
  • Last posted a year ago. Had a Lloyds claim rejected and registered a complaint by telephone with FOS. I didnt send the documents to them for six months, just before the dead line. That was in March this year. Just received a letter saying that Lloyds have agreed to make a goodwill offer based on the FOS terms. I was really surprised, I had expected it to take a lot longer. I have to wait 2 weeks for FOS to let Lloyds know we have accepted then up to 8 weeks for Lloyds to calculate and process payment. I would like to thank again those that helped me last year and good luck to those claiming.

I hope you don't have to wait too long for Lloyds to pay out.
  • Just an update about my lloyds claim.

I sent off a very vague letter in may to claim for cc and loan ppi mis sell. Within the 8 weeks both came back refused due to hearsay on the whole told couldn't have credit without it. Gave me 28 days to submit further info etc... Did that in the middle of June, stating further reasons, benefits life ins etc....

Heard nothing! So 10 days ago I emailed the CEO and just gave details of claim and times etc.... Got an email the following day guaranteeing a decision within 10 working days. Got a phone call the next day enquiring about sickness benefits etc....

Two days later claim for loan upheld, only £299 but as I only paid for a few months, not bad...also a £100 payment for keeping me waiting. Thank you very much!

Now for the cc....same reasons etc refused. Now, I went into my branch just to confirm that I had indeed cancelled the ppi on the loan, which I had. To be informed that as I havent worked full time since 1989 and was on a career break for 8 years (3 kids) and then being self employed for four years that my cc ppi was void anyway! And when I took out the cc I was on my career break! So, have just updated ppi cust care and now await further info....I know this one will probably still be a no but worth a try.

So it is worth submitting further info as long as it is significant and not just the same info as was on the original claim.

So money was paid in directly this week!

On a side note after claiming mine, I claimed for my husband (we had paid in mortgage ppi for 6 months befor I realised it was no good to us) but I submitted all the info on the first letter and within 6 weeks he received an offer of all ppi payments made along with 8%i interest cheque on its way!

Thanks to all the help from this site! Wish I'd found it before I made my initial claim though. Will update you on the cc claim although I fear this will be referred to the fos.

Loan was from 2000 paid off in 2003. All I had was the account number, no paperwork was sent with the questionnaire. The offer came back in less than 3 weeks.....
