Hi just wondered if anyone can help. I put in a claim for my total mortgage protection cover with the halifax and got a letter back a week letter saying they are not up holding my claim and that i can go to FOS if i am unhappy. It seems very quick to look at it properly and it was dated back to 1993-2005. I have just phoned up the hotline and asked about the fact that it was an endowment mortgage they sold me and that covered us for death on its own. Also that my hubby had 6 months full sickness pay then half pay for 6 months. The guy said he was re opening the case with the new information i had given him. Do you think i have much of a chance?0

I put my claim in on the 17th of July 7 weeks in I recieved the 8 weeks more letter, (putting them at end of October for response now), I am told that this letter is only being sent to people making claims against Loans, not credit cards, and is entirely due to the volume of requests being made upon them, I am led to believe by someone I spoke to in their UK helpdesk that they have agreed this extension with the FOS so you should IN THEORY hear something within the next 3 weeks....apparently ;-)
Thanks for the reply ~ I hope I do hear something in the next 3 weeks....but i'm not so sure!! I rang them today, to be told that I did receive an extra 8 weeks letter, and basically I have to wait the 8 weeks. The letter states it could take up to another 8 weeks.....not that it will take the full 8 weeks! I hate ringing because I never get the Uk helpline.:wave:Hi I'm new to the forum. :hello: Please be gentle. :j0 -

I find that you more often get the UK line if you ring when they open around 8am (so far that has worked for me), i know how you feel I have been counting down the weeks, so i was less than impressed when i recieved the 8 week extension letter 1 week from the deadline. I have 3 loans from '03 '04 and '05 so I expect mine will take a while to investigate.0 -

Now just waiting to hear back from Egg, similar amount, claim sent the same day as for the MoneyBack Bank loan

Contact the card people and ask for proof of this.Hi All.
I'm new to this site and this is my first post.
I've been using this site for information and to date, I have had success with my ppi claim on my barclay bank loan (£11k approx)
I'm also in the process of claiming back my Lloyds TSB loan (PPI was round about £2k so with interest that should be a nice tidy sum to pay off some more of my debt.
Loans are all fine and pretty simpy but when it comes to credit cards, i'm a little stuck.
Barclaycard (I have 3 cards with them, 1 originally Egg) and I wrote to them and they responded with a "I can confirm that no policies were added to your accounts at any point". Should I take this as final or pursue further?
RBS, sent me back my original credit agreement (I had to pay £1 for this) but I can't find anything on there regarding PPI or similar. Can someone help me with this and where to look?
This is the same for my 2 Halifax credit cards
Many Thanks
C
If RBS is a Credit card, it may not show on the agreement but could have been activated at a later date, if it was a loan and there is no PPI on there, then you did not have it.0 -
hi guys
i am new to the forum and find this all a bit baffling.
Currently have 3 claims in with Lloyds
One for a loan (2003-2007)which i had that i was told i had to take the ppi or no go for the money - i have claimed on this as told no ppi no loan and that i was not requiring the PPI due to work benefits etc.
The other 2 are for loans that i had while in the Royal Navy and the loan details says "HM Forces Loan - With Insurance" - both of these were taken in the 90's and I did not know i had the insurance and i certainly did not need it due to Armed Forces benefits.
What are my chances of getting money back on these.
many thanks in advance.
J
What was the insurance to cover you for and did you have a need of it? if not, as you were in service then put the claim in, if you paid the PPI in with the loan payment each month, this is Single Premium PPI and this is the reason that you use for mis sell also, this was in effect a loan on the loan that you paid back to term end with interest.0 -
The poster you replied to had the paperwork and it was the bank they dealt with, you have to put the claim into the dealer you got the car from as they sold you the PPI and the loan, from the year you took this out, the dealer may no longer be in business and even if they were they will hold no data after all this time, even if you had bank statements showing the loan payment, this does not prove that you had PPI on the loan.Clairep9107 wrote: »
That's really good to know I posted last night about a loan that my husband had with Wagon Finance for a car dating back to 99 but no paperwork. He remembers when he got it, for what car it was for, including the reg, he has the same bank account so I'm assuming the repayments would be found on old bank statements however we haven't kept these either but I'm assuming that the bank could help there. I had a reply saying no paperwork no claim but after out conversation together with your post I hope that we do still have a possible claim it just may not be straightforward
I'm going to keep at it
