After rejection letter about 5 weeks ago, i wrote back to Halifax They now say my case is reopened and i will receive a response within a week.

    Does this sound promising??
I think you'll just receive a reiteration of the original rejection. I suggest you prepare to take your complaint to FOS.

even though they asked for all the additional information?

    That's disappointing.

    Black Horse loan 2003
claimed 3600 on 15 July, filled in their form but after reading the ins and outs on here we decided 2 things:
1 Ring them every 3 days
2 Add the fact that the loan was "front loaded / single premium"

Wifey rang them yesterday, was told that the claim has been upheld and we will get a letter stating such within the next ten days, after that we will get an offer letter within 10 working days.
When we have accepted the offer (if good enough) we will have a cheque within 30 days.

Hope this Helps, keep at the b******s, that seems to be the key.

I've yet to see any reports here of Banks actually re-considering. It used to be that they all provided a "full and final response" immediately, but now some seem to inviting further contact for some reason.
FOS is the final arbiter, so don't give up just yet...
  • Hello Everyone, please forgive me, I'm new to this website, well the forums anyway, I don't know how to start a thread so I've opted to join this one I hope someone is able to help as you seem to have had a few sucesses.

I'd been speaking to my husband re PPI and he has had a number of loans in the past which he is sure contained PPI, unknowingly, it's only recently he's thought they might. One of the loans dates back to Sep 99 on a car, however the loan was through Wagon Finance which I have discovered is now owned by Santander. He doesn't have anyof the paperwork and from looking at a few forums today it is rare for a company to keep accounts details past 6 years. I'm thinking even more so for a company they have acquired. I'm stupped! I'm contemplating giving it to a PPI reclaim co, do you think this would be a good idea? If not where do I start, I haven't a clue and in need of assistance with this.

    Thanks

    Lloyds vs ME,
Journey with Lloyds started on the 13th of August (loan and the credit card)
On the 5th September I received a call from Lloyds asking to confirm the reason of my claim. I was at this time in title to full sick pay, health and redundancy cover and life insurance, PPI on the loan was front loaded and the sales person made it clear that it is compulsory.
Does anyone received, phone calls from Lloyds asking to confirm the reason? Is that a good or bad sign?

I phoned them on the 13th June, I had the telephone call to confirm reasons etc, at around 5-6 weeks after. I then received a letter asking for another 8 weeks the following week.
I can't say if it's good or bad because at 13 weeks (tomorrow) I am still waiting for the letter to say its been upheld or not.
Don't be disheartened though, some people are getting a result within a few weeks.... :rotfl:

  • Hi I'm a newbie and hoping for an experienced voice to point me in the right direction :)

I have just had my letter from Lloyds TSB telling me that they had fully investigated my PPI complaint (having unwittingly been paying into it for 12 years unbeknownst to me - I have no policy paperwork) and they now tell me there is no case to answer.

I complained because I couldn't remember taking out a policy and found the repayments on my credit card statement but they inform me that the date I took it out was September 2009. I now KNOW I must have been mis-sold because I was at university at the time and therefore had no payments to protect!

Can anyone please tell me where to go from here? Do I pursue it with Lloyds or refer it to the Ombudsman?

    Thanks

i am on week 11 i did phone yesterday but no news yet, she did remind me about the request for a further 8 weeks :(

I am going to ring them sometime this week. I just think that there must be a good reason why it is taking them so long to investigate it. ;)
I just keep my fingers crossed for us both...and hope we both get a good result after all this waiting. I am really, really trying to remain patient... :(

  • Hello, i just like to say a great BIG BIG THANK YOU to all the posted i read to help claim my ppi money back, and MSE site too.

I had 3 loans with hsbc.. which i got back £16,558.
no issuse just filled in the forms and waited the time limit and received an offer letter with break down etc and received money straight into the bank 7 days later. i also had a credit card with hsbc which they wrote back saying unless i could provide them with full details of payments the claim would not be upheld, but unlucky for them i had every single 1 of my statements as i have always filed stuff like that so i received £2,500 for the card.
I also had a credit card back years ago with the Natwest but only had about 2 and abit years of statement which worked out to be about £800 owing ,so i just sent the filled in forms off to see what happened i received the standard letter then 6 weeks later i received a phone call just asking why i had claims so just explain just like it states on the site and the chap on the other end say ok you will be getting an offer letter in a couple of weeks i received an offer letter 3 days later.. for £5138......and a break down of payment a little bit differnt than the £800 i forgot that i had the credit card for 10 years, doh,,it was the only paper work i had never filed properly.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
i could not smiling all day and nite.
ok now i need some help my partner had a loan with HfC i sent the forms off and she had a letter back saying that because it was older than 6 years they have destoyed all there records, and unless we had the full details the claim would be no good as she only has the account number,,,,,any 1 got the answer where to get here old details from please.
