The above figure includes 8% interest, does £1555.15 sound about right for payments over the 7-year period totalling £5689.58?
Edit: Should point out before anyone gets their calculators in a twist, it was a cashback-based loan that rewarded you with £50 each year you had a claim free year on the PPI, this £300 has been subtracted from the total sum owed (so originally it would have been £7244.73).0 -

I'd been speaking to my husband re PPI and he has had a number of loans in the past which he is sure contained PPI, unknowingly, it's only recently he's thought they might. One of the loans dates back to Sep 99 on a car, however the loan was through Wagon Finance which I have discovered is now owned by Santander. He doesn't have anyof the paperwork and from looking at a few forums today it is rare for a company to keep accounts details past 6 years. I'm thinking even more so for a company they have acquired. I'm stupped! I'm contemplating giving it to a PPI reclaim co, do you think this would be a good idea? If not where do I start, I haven't a clue and in need of assistance with this.
Thanks

As the car loan was 99 and you have no paperwork, this is a no go,If you use a claims co, you have to gather the paperwork, account numbers etc and the claims co posts off the form to the bank and take a hefty % of any win you get, plus Vat.
If you have paperwork or loan account numbers for any loans you had PPI on and were mis sold then make the claims, you only need to contact the banks direct.0 -
They have given you the whole PPI amount back and the 8% so the redress is correct.
Thanks amersall, I thought it would be - just thought if anything the £1.5k interest seemed quite high! Not that the tax man will be complaining lol!
Now just waiting to hear back from Egg, similar amount, claim sent the same day as for the MoneyBack Bank loan0 -
Hi All.
I'm new to this site and this is my first post.
I've been using this site for information and to date, I have had success with my ppi claim on my barclay bank loan (£11k approx)
I'm also in the process of claiming back my Lloyds TSB loan (PPI was round about £2k so with interest that should be a nice tidy sum to pay off some more of my debt.
Loans are all fine and pretty simpy but when it comes to credit cards, i'm a little stuck.
Barclaycard (I have 3 cards with them, 1 originally Egg) and I wrote to them and they responded with a "I can confirm that no policies were added to your accounts at any point". Should I take this as final or pursue further?
RBS, sent me back my original credit agreement (I had to pay £1 for this) but I can't find anything on there regarding PPI or similar. Can someone help me with this and where to look?
This is the same for my 2 Halifax credit cards
Many Thanks

hi guys
i am new to the forum and find this all a bit baffling.
Currently have 3 claims in with Lloyds
One for a loan (2003-2007)which i had that i was told i had to take the ppi or no go for the money - i have claimed on this as told no ppi no loan and that i was not requiring the PPI due to work benefits etc.
The other 2 are for loans that i had while in the Royal Navy and the loan details says "HM Forces Loan - With Insurance" - both of these were taken in the 90's and I did not know i had the insurance and i certainly did not need it due to Armed Forces benefits.
What are my chances of getting money back on these.
many thanks in advance.

I can't say if it's good or bad because at 13 weeks (tomorrow) I am still waiting for the letter to say its been upheld or not.
Don't be disheartened though, some people are getting a result within a few weeks.... :rotfl:
I put my claim in on the 17th of July 7 weeks in I recieved the 8 weeks more letter, (putting them at end of October for response now), I am told that this letter is only being sent to people making claims against Loans, not credit cards, and is entirely due to the volume of requests being made upon them, I am led to believe by someone I spoke to in their UK helpdesk that they have agreed this extension with the FOS so you should IN THEORY hear something within the next 3 weeks....apparently ;-)0 -
Edit - Sorry wrong thread.

Hi All
Just thought I would share my recent success with you. I found in the loft some paperwork for a £1k loan with HSBC from 1991 with PPI on. Sent off claim, received letter upholding claim almost 8 weeks later, accepted and received payment of nearly £500 1 week later !!
Just about to write to them again asking them to check their records for other loans that I know I had which were sold in the same way - only prob is I havent got paperwork. I'll let you know what happens
These banks say they dont keep records for all that time ago but my point is that they must have had some way of checking that the paperwork I submitted was legitimate so they MUST have records.
Good luck all0 -

That's really good to know I posted last night about a loan that my husband had with Wagon Finance for a car dating back to 99 but no paperwork. He remembers when he got it, for what car it was for, including the reg, he has the same bank account so I'm assuming the repayments would be found on old bank statements however we haven't kept these either but I'm assuming that the bank could help there. I had a reply saying no paperwork no claim but after out conversation together with your post I hope that we do still have a possible claim it just may not be straightforward
I'm going to keep at it0
