  • Hi ALL,

I would like to thank Martin, creators of this website, contributers of the Forum and specifically this thread for giving me the confidence to persue my PPi claim.
I recentley received a successful upheld notification from black horse and they have awarded me a little over £3k on 2 loans.
All in all took no longer than 8 weeks.
Super happy and much closer to being debt Free.
  • Thank you so much to all of the MSE contributors who gave me the kick up the backside that I needed to claim back my PPI from a Lloyds TSB loan. Someone kindly gave me the wording so all I needed to do was add my loan account number and send it off. It was a 25k loan plus PPI and LTSB have written to me after only 6 weeks saying that they will be paying me £13,690. I feel like I have won the lottery!!!!
  • Forgot to say, my grounds for mis-selling was the 'single premium' payment.
  • Dear Discocat - great name by the way - could you pm me the letter you used to ltsb - am about to embark on ppi chase and any advcie gratefully recieved - hope you can help many thanks:)

Have a 7-year MoneyBack Bank (originally Alliance and Leicester, now Santander) loan, with front-loaded PPI. Claim submitted the last week of July, this morning an offer of £6944.73 :)

The above figure includes 8% interest, does £1555.15 sound about right for payments over the 7-year period totalling £5689.58?

Edit: Should point out before anyone gets their calculators in a twist, it was a cashback-based loan that rewarded you with £50 each year you had a claim free year on the PPI, this £300 has been subtracted from the total sum owed (so originally it would have been £7244.73).
  • Hi Villarenter30. I have PM'd you the wording that I used. Good luck!!!
  • Lloyds vs ME,
Journey with Lloyds started on the 13th of August (loan and the credit card)
On the 5th September I received a call from Lloyds asking to confirm the reason of my claim. I was at this time in title to full sick pay, health and redundancy cover and life insurance, PPI on the loan was front loaded and the sales person made it clear that it is compulsory.
Does anyone received, phone calls from Lloyds asking to confirm the reason? Is that a good or bad sign?
  • After rejection letter about 5 weeks ago, i wrote back to Halifax pointing out that they had failed to address the central elements of my claim (despite their letter being 5 pages long)

I disputed my need for the PPI as i had at least 1 year sick pay, plus potentially longer. I had significant death in service cover of at least 100k, and in a public sector role was well covered for redundancy.

Anyway they rang me back and asked for proof of that info, which i provided.

They now say my case is reopened and i will receive a response within a week.

    Does this sound promising??
