The debt was sold on from HSBC to a third party ( not an in house collection) so I have been told what I get back would be paid to myself as I dont have anything owing to HSBC
Do you have this in writing from the Bank?
  • Do you have this in writing from the Bank?

    Hi

I dont have, do you think I will have problems?

Worst case I should get the 8% interest?

Anything that comes off my debts only helps me get debt free quicker

Nothing at all is worst case.
  • Good Morning,
It has been a great couple of months.
All of my PPI claims have now been very successful...
MBNA was the hardest one to deal with... due to them not upholding my claim.... so i decided to go forward and complained to the financial ombudsman who upheld my claim within a three month period.
In total have collect around 7,000 from Halifax, Santander, and Mbna
So please don’t give up guy
Also a big thank you..... For all the help and advice given on this forum
    Good luck to you all
    Sue
  • I have a loan with Picture Loans and had PPI on it which was mis-sold.
Because Picture went into default in 2009 I had to claim through FSCS .

Tuesday 24th July: Phoned FSCS who then sent me a form out
    Saturday 28th July: Received Form
Tuesday 31st July: Sent Filled in Form off to FSCS (Recorded Del)
Friday 7th September received a cheque for £9700.00
    YIPPEEE!!!!
    Thank to the MSE
  • Claiming for a credit card from TSB, got £390.00 back. Used the print out from here, sent it off 17th July came back Friday. Sweet!

  • Received the letter of the halifax 5 weeks ago saying they were not upholding my husbands ppi claim and if he wasnt happy he should write back telling them why he didnt agree with their decision, anyways he's wrote back and he phoned them back on friday and asked what was happening and they said his claim was under review, anyone else done this and did you get the decision over turned?? obviously it;ll be the fos if we get no-where with the halifax
  • I wish I had known of this site a year ago!
I wrote to first trust bank where I had a loan to advise that I was mis-sold ppi on the loan and would like it back. They sent me out a form to fill in asking details like "did i visit the branch or do the loan on the phone", as it was 2007 I couldnt remember all the details crystal clear and told them that I did the loan over the phone. They then refused my claim stating basically that I visited the bank to apply for the loan and if i couldnt remember that much then I couldnt possibly remember being mis-sold the insurance!!:(
That was october 11, I wasnt aware at the time that I could contact the financial ombudsman to appeal within 6 months. i have since discovered this site and its too late to do anything about it!!!
So I have paid first trust bank £1100 in ppi over the course of my loan which I ended up settling early!!!!

    :money:
