Just thought I'd share my success story with you all..I received a letter and cheque from Barclays Bank on Saturday, for the very tidy and more than welcome sum of £5049.97 PPI refund with interest!! The claim was so very easy thanks to Martin's brilliant template letter that I downloaded. Took just ten days in total from start to finish so very big thanks to Martin and your teriffic site. So if anyone out there is dithering and thinking 'is it worth it', well yes it is!!!:T

Just hope that Nationwide now get their backsides into gear and refunds my bank charges that they are disputing..

Confused! Received cheque beginning on August and a covering letter. Today, month later received a further letter saying that they had done the calculations and a breakdown of what I am owed - todays figure is about £30 different in their favour - do i contact them and ask for it or am i likely to receive a further cheque for the difference. In the grand scheme of things £30 not a lot, but if they do that all everyone, they are reaping a bit of their financial losses back!

Unless you are, in fact, an "ambulance chaser" yourself, it's unwise to post your E-Mail address on a public forum. You leave yourself open to identity theft and spam.
  • You contacted Barclays for statements from HSBC????
    Shurely shome mishtake?:D

Sorry didn't make my self clear, HSBC wanted copies of my bank statements to prove payments made, which Barclays provided for me
  • Now you know why your own original posts about the "lottery " of successful complaints seemed so wide of the mark.
    "Conspiracy" theories are just that.

    With hindsight i would agree.
Unfortunately its too easy to get emotionally attached to your own claims.

I wonder if anyone can help with this query? I took out a loan over the phone from Homebase either in 2003 or 2004. I don't have the paperwork, but I know from an old bank statement that the last payment was made in August 2008. The direct debits were paid to ARG Personal Loans. I know that Homebase and Argos are the same company. At the moment, Homebase loans are provided by Barclays Bank. Does anyone know if Barclays was the provider in 2003 or 2004?
You need to contact Homebase, the bank only lent the money they did not sell the PPI, ask if they can find you, as this was paid off in 08 they should still have the details.
The may refuse this due to the year, see what they come back with, if you paid the PPI in with the loan monthly payment, this is Single Premium PPI and this is the reason you use.

Hi guys needing some help, I have several companies that I feel I could claim PPI from but don't know where to start. I no longer have any paperwork or account no's relating to these companies so where do I go from here?:(

Contact the companies and see if they can find you, pop into a local branch if you can, give as much info as you can to help them, if these were cleared more than 6 years ago, you may have difficulty with this, give it a try and see.
