  • To this site and all its helpful information.I have received just over £17k in miss sold PPI from Lloyd's for a credit card and loan.I have been able to go out and pay cash to up grade to a three year old car we are going to spend a fair bit doing the house up and still leave me with a tidy sum in my account. It's such a great feeling being totally debt free.I have promised myself l will never go into debt again the simple answer will always be if l cant afford to buy anything out right l wont be buying.Hope every one else get the same result as me and good luck to you all.
  • Did you click on the 'Closed Accounts' tab? It took me a while to find it and all of my old ones were on there.

Lisa Docherty Not a good idea putting your email address on an open forum - better option may be to invite people to PM you.

Congratulations on your successful claim. Have a great holiday. Mine was 12 weeks yesterday, and hoping I will hear from them soon. I will ring again next week for an update if I don't hear anything in the meantime. :rotfl:

    • What were you reclaiming: 2 loans and a credit card.
    • Who was the provider: HSBC
    • How much did you get back: £4,172.20
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Letter
Well its is probably 8 weeks to the day ish since HSBC sent me the acceptance letter. Claim upheld. Had bothered them a couple of times on the phone to see how it was going. The first time because I had not received an acknowledgment of my claim and more recently a gentle reminder that I was still about.

After calling HSBC and being advised that yes I had paid PPI and given all relevant details about these loans. Loan 2 was paid off last year and the other was from about 8 years ago. This was consolidated into loan 2 though.

All I did was follow the advice given on here, explained how I worked as a teacher, and that at one point was actually self employed. I will be really honest I didn't even ask for T&C's for any of the PPI.

I have spent the 2 months waiting constructively telling people to follow avice and trying to help others. It certainty beats bothering the postman.

I will be perfectly honest I think I am probably due back a little more for my loans but as this was money that I was not expecting then I will be more than pleased with it.

    Thanks to all.

Great news I'm so pleased for you!

I got my cheque today, for people still waiting I have added my timeline.

Fingers crossed for you all :)

    Timeline

    18th July called Lloyds
    23rd August complaint was upheld
    6th September- cheque received

Thanks everyone :) bye for now
    • What were you reclaiming: Credit Card PPI
    • Who was the provider: Lloyds
    • How much did you get back: £2500
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Further evidence
Sent off FOS questionnaire in April and got back a rejection from Lloyds in June. I then wrote another letter backing up previous reasons for mis-sell and in the meantime got details of a pre existing condition (dates etc) which I had not thought of when initially complaining (memory like a sieve!).

To speed up the process I emailed the CEO and a few hours later got back an email from a lady who said complaint with the further information would be looked into. A few days later the lady rang back and said my further evidence had been rejected again BUT with my new evidence that I had detailed in my email she was going to challenge the rejection and low and behold it was upheld :j

As it was over 7 years I did not get back the full amount as I had no paperwork but I am happy that at the last hour I got back something. I had a pre existing condition that would not have paid out. From the dates my Doctor gave me, I was diagnosed 5 months prior to taking out my credit card. Lloyds did not ask for any evidence from my Dr, however I would have been willing to submit this had they asked.

So far hubby and I have had a small win with Santander, a £2800 win with M&S money and a rejection from Barclays. One more outstanding with Barclays although not holding out much hope but an email a few days ago to the new CEO has resulted in them ringing us and saying they will chase up complaint!
