Hi.... Don't worry I am still waiting too. Mine is 12 weeks tomorrow. I rang yesterday for an update, and guess what.....yes...it's still being investigated. I have noticed too that there has been no successes or failures lately from Lloyds. Perhaps the people working there on the claims have been on holiday for a couple of weeks. I don't know whats happening, but I am trying to be very patient. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Here's hoping we hear from them soon with some good news!!

i like your theory about they have been on holiday :rotfl:

Judging by the increase in number of cases dealt with by FOS i would suggest not.
The majority of posts on here are successes.
Could be the banks have employed more people and are investigating all cases thoroughly so more people are getting rejected and not shouting about there success on here.
Could be folks are busy getting the kids ready for back to school.who knows?

We mailed letter of complaint (and the questionnaire) to Capital One on 18 July ans to date have heard nothing. Not even an acknowledgment so were concerned that it had disappeared. However this is reassuring, albeit annoying at their slowness!!

I sent all the relevant docs to Capital One in March and had no response. I then called them and had to start again as they claimed that I had sent the complaint to the wrong address.
The correspondence address on the letters I have received from them recently is PO Box 5283, Nottingham. NG2 3YG
I have found that the best number to call them on is 0333 0001601 and ask for a call back. This number is for credit cards and it asks you for your card number but if you have/had a loan like me keep hitting random numbers and the hash key. Eventually you get through to a person who will advise that you will get a return call within 48 working hours - Yes Working! But I found that they usually call back next day.
Keep calling them weekly as I did. They will give you an update.
My case took from mid May to yesterday to complete with a letter of offer of over £9k which I have accepted. I called them a total of 11 times.
I have heard that Capital are one of the most difficult to deal with but keep plugging away and make notes of dates and content of conversations for future ref.
    Good Luck
  • Hi All! Just thought Id share my story of success!

    What were you reclaiming?: Loan

    Who was the provider?: Barclays

How much did you get back?: £7000.66

Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman? Sent in Questionnaire

Reclaim Tale: I sent off PPI claim form on the 7th of August. Received on call from Barclays on the 15th of August to confirm my reasons for miss sell. On the 25th I received a letter asking me to go into a Barclays branch to update my information i.e Name and address as I hadn't banked with them for a while. Then today i received a cheque to the sum of £7000.66! I am still in shock. Was hoping to get a little something back so this is a lovely surprise!

So all in all it took just under 4 weeks. Was expecting it to take a lot longer so I feel very lucky that my claim was very straight forward and dealt with very quickly.

Good Luck to all you with claims in and to those thinking about doing so, please go ahead and do it if you feel you have genuinely been misold PPI.

And a big thank you to all the forum members. The information I have read on here has been invaluable to my claim.

    Many Thanks MSE!

Fantastic news!! Well done!! Do you mind if I ask roughly how long your loan was over and how much? Was it part of a consolidated chain?

(Just asking so I can try and relate it to my low offer which related to a loan that started off as £7000 up to £25000 and was consolidated 5 times over 10 years)

    Thanks in advance.

    Kitty :)

  • I wrote to Egg 9 weeks ago as my wife had an egg card from 2001 to 2004. I contacted them first in 2008 and was told there was no ppi applied to this card via the telephone so I thought nothing about it.
Then 9 weeks ago I contacted my mortgage provider Halifax who had also told me via the telephone that I had no ppi on my mortgage but after further investigation I found this was incorrect. So with this in mind I requested the SAR report for my wife's Egg card too and also the copy of my wife's internet application form. Guess what, PPI was applied for 2 years and then stopped (but I can't remember if we requested it to be stopped or not) but I have not received the internet application form. I wrote to Egg and explained the situation and as Egg had already been investigated and fined for PPI issues I thought I had a good case. They have written back to me stating that the matter is closed quoting.
    Our online application
    1) does not require you to take out PPI as a condition of taking the card.
    2) does not provide an advisory service
    3) required you to positively confirm that you wished to purchase this policy during the inline application.
    4) provided full terms and conditions of the policy and requested you read them before submitting.

So I believe Egg was fined for having an internet application process that had preticked boxes on it. How do I prove this if they wont sent me the information I requested.

Has anyone else encountered similar from EGG as above. I have forwarded my complaint to the FOS now

hi and welcome to PPI looney land

yes patience is needed with all these banks etc so good luck that you get good news soon .HOLIDAYS YEP POSSIBLE.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    I THINK DIFFERENT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I sent 2 SAR letters out on 22nd June - one to RBS and one to MBNA - hoping to get information re loans I'd taken out with both companies in the late 90's/early 00's, all of which I'm pretty much convinced had PPI on them.

I'm still waiting for RBS to get back to me so I'm going to have to chase them up as they're well over the 40 working days but I received a whole load of info back from MBNA towards the end of July and luckily in amongst the pile of paperwork there was a record of a phone call I'd made in 2005 relating to my loan with them that I'd taken out in 2001. That phone record showed my loan account number which enabled me to start my claim which I posted on 1st August.

Anyway, on Saturday I received a letter saying my complaint had been upheld - I'd taken out a £10,000 loan over 5 years and front-loaded PPI had been applied to it. I'm due back over £3700.00 in total which comprises something like £2175.00 of insurance premiums and over £1500.00 in interest :)

None of this would've happened if a friend hadn't pointed me in the direction of this website so a big thanks there but also thanks to those on here for their additional advice, particularly Di.
