Reclaimed PPI and charges
recieved £700 for PPI , which they sent me by cheque
Claimed back £175 for charges which they refunded to my barclaycard account.
Got me latest stament and BC have now added £700 to my account
They have now told me because I didnt pay the PPI refund to my account that they have therefore charged me thuis amount and added it to me account , so now i have paid the PPI twice ??
Surley this has got to be unlawful , they cant give the money back and then say I have to use it to pay of the balcance otheriwse they are going to charge me !!! Have spent 8 hours on the phoen to them and cant get any sense from them
Wait for the next statement, with CC redress they put the PPI back to the card, send you a cheque and then take it back off the card, if this does not happen and you had no arrears, contact FOS and ask them what to do.0 -

Thye never stated that i had to pay the money back to them once the cheque had cleared .They have now charged me £700 on my account and charging intrest . I keep phoning and they state the £700 is the repyament of the PPI . they dont seem to understand that they sent me a cheque but then have charged me for it on my bc account . they keep telling me they paid the PPI in the first place and i wasnt intitled to the money . They are not making any sense
Just read this, take it to FOS, they are wrong.0 -
Hi everyone
After reading the post by liesa030 I decided to call Lloyds today as I made my initial complaint to them on 18th July.
I was advised that my two complaints (both loans) had been upheld and I had been awarded £2285.00.
One of the loans was from 1997 & the other from 2001. I filled in the FOS form and wrote to them also. They advised a letter was sent to me on 28th August with my offer.
I will have closure on this when I receive the money that I am owed into my account.
My reasons were that I didn't know I had PPI, I didn't need PPI ( was in Army at time of first one) , both were paid off early and the PPI was front loaded so it was no benefit to me. I requested a prompt and effective investigation. I have had no call clarifying my points and as I have stated above I wrote to them and sent an FOS form , this has been sufficient for them to investigate accordingly.
Good luck everyone& if anyone knows how long it takes for the money to be paid please could you advise? Thanks
congrats to you.
both of my claims are for 1995 and 1996 so you have done well but being week 10 ended yesterday i fear a turn down sadly i just wish they would get it over and done with.0 -
I contacted Monument in March 2012 when I discovered I had been paying PPI for 6 years. I paid the card off and closed the account. I then asked for the PPI payments back. They offered me half of the £1723.00 (£861.00). I then wrote back saying I wanted the full amount plus interest or I would contact the FOS and I got a letter today offering me £4300.00 !! The interest came in at £2577.00. I hope this helps others to pursue their claims.:j0

If it's any consolation we had to wait until week 11 for a response but our claim was upheld so don't give up hope0 -
