Hi I have made another ppi complaint on an active loan witch im still paying off, and got 2 years left. They have rejected my ppi complaint. Can I refuse to pay off my rest of my loan?
    NO
Take it to the FOS if the letter stated it was the banks final say on the matter. If not send them reasons why you think they are wrong.
    CC 1 :- £5800/ £5,800 CC2:-[STRIKE] £4513 / £4513[/STRIKE] CC3: £4622.53/ £4622.53[/STRIKE] CC4:- £8971/ £8971[/STRIKE]
    Loan:- [STRIKE]£1785.63 / £1785.63[/STRIKE] 0

Actual total debt January 2011 £39,451.30 Paid to date 39,375.77
 PPI from HSBC = £4172

What were the reasons for rejection and was this a final response?, don't stop paying the loan, see if you can reject the reasons they gave for rejecting.

Been stalking forum for ages getting tips!! So I finally
filled in form from website and sent off to HFC on 14th July. Sent it recorded, but received prompt reply within 10 days. This morning have had a letter to say that complaint has been rejected, as the lump sum I paid upfront was refunded within a few months and 'therefore you were not at a financial disadvantage with regard to this insurance policy' as they say!
However they also investigated another loan (that I hadn't asked about) and did accept the complaint and have made me an offer!!
Also, while this was going on I received a letter from Legal and General saying that they were concerned that I may have been miss-sold one of their policies when I took out my mortgage (sorted by AWD) They included the forms and a stamped envelope. So, I sent it off on 4th August and received an offer yesterday!!
This was also an upfront lump sum figure that I cancelled within a short time and the premium was refunded to me.
So, on that basis, should i complain once again to HFC? And, can I, if I accept the settlement on the other HFC loan?
Or should I call it quits as I'm £2140 up?

Did you pay any of this PPI or did you cancel within the 30 days they give you?.
If you cancelled within the 30 days and you did not have the loan monthly payment reduced by the PPI monthly amount ask for the figures when you cancelled this PPI, it is possible they only gave you a rebate of the PPI as you could have passed the 30 days that you had to cancel in, if this is the case, they owe you PPI.

You can accept the refund for the one they upheld, this does not affect the one you are disputing.

    Hi,
Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who has posted on this and other related forums. I'd got so fed up of being bombarded with hard sell from claim companies, I thought there must be something worth investigating. So pleased I did, as your input has spurred me on to uncover a number of PPI policies I had in the past. I fit many of the criteria for mis-selling, so will be lodging some complaints.

I do, however, have a query on timescales. We took out mortgage protection on our first mortgage in 1987. This was as a result of very hard sell from the Representative of Staffordshire Building Society. We ended up with an endowment mortgage and a seperate Mortgage Protection policy. I recall the interview vividly, despite the time lapse. We were given no other mortgage options to consider and were told that, "as we had only been in our current employment for 2 years, we had to have the mortgage protection". Consequently, we ended up with a £15 a month premium for the next 13 years (We moved house in 2000 and secured a much better deal, perhaps due to being older and less naive). I cancelled the protection at that point.

Stupid as it now sounds, I genuinely believed that the product was a compulsory feature of our first mortgage, despite the fact that my employment benefits were excellent throughout that time and would have covered me adequately for at least 12 months (the maximum available on the policy).

So- to my question. Is it worth me persuing a claim on this or not? I have the original mortgage account number, but nothing else, other than my memories of the interview. Nationwide took over the Staffordshire Building Society/Portland some year back, so my complaint would have to be directed to them.

Sorry this is such a long post. I hope someone can advise.

Many thanks from someone who, like many others, has worked very hard most of her life, but still not managed to escape the need to rely on credit just to survive to the end of the month!!

Some MPPI is not reclaimable and is compulsory, post your question here

hi did you claim for miss selling as i was rejected even though i was told that if i had the ppi i had a better chance of getting my application approved i didnt need ppi thanks and well done

Did you pay the PPI in wih the loan payment each month? if you did, this was Single Premium PPI and this is the reason that you use for the mis sell, as others have said, the reason you stated is hearsay and is hard to prove, what other reasons did you give for mis sell and was this the final response from the bank?.

Give it a go, the mortgage number is important but if you have an old mortgage statement this will help your claim to show the PPI as part of the payments. We submitted a complaint to Santander who took over our former mortgage provider and they have upheld our claim going back to 1994 - just waiting for the final offer.

I have followed this forum and started a number of complaints earlier this year and provided either copy statements, or any doucment showing payment. Some successes were instant - others need a bit more tenancity.

So far we have had refunds from Lloyds CC, Yorkshire Bank, HSBC, Barclaycard and Santander and the total is nearly £30k - so far! A big thank you to MSE and all on the forum :T

    hi there
my thoughts are the following--i think that lloyds are playing hard ball against people who have already claimed before and were successful so that they aint gonna pay anymore to us.
enough is enough i can hear them sayin.
i may be way off but somethings not right.
i will probably get shot down by amersall /di /moneyinep etc but thats my theory.

I will not shoot you down in flames :D it would like a conspiracy theory I must admit.
If you were mis sold on products from any bank then they will be upheld, you can go to FOS and if you were mis sold and the bank said "no" the FOS will uphold, it is not in the banks interest to reject with out good cause.

Well after 11 weeks we have had success with Lloyds :j Cannot believe we have had an offer of in excess of £10,000:rotfl: no more stalking Mr postman!! A massive thanks you to Amersall & co as without the single premium advice it may never have been upheld so thank you again this will make such a huge difference to us  Without the advice on here I would have used a claims company so my advice to anyone is do it yourself, for the sake of a few hours of your time and a few stamps you could be a lot better off. :j:j
