  • NRAM - Northern Rock

Complaint upheld for just over £3000 :)

really shocked as i thought we had all our complaints sorted, some upheld and some not. We orginally had a letter from NRAM saying that we didnt have PPI, Then a month on another letter to say they are looking at the complaint and would hear from them soon so was confussed and through it was just a mishap, then today got a letter saying our complaint had been upheld :)

so a happy bunny today x
  • Hi everyone,

I am in need of help, my dad has four different TMP plans and has been paying them for the pass five years and more! The thing is my dad is self employed and I'm under the impression he will not
Be covered and they have mis sold him TMP! Can anyone help how to claim this back and also of we are entitled
    To do so?????

Your help and advice will be much appreciated

    Thanks
  • Hi all,
For weeks now I have been reading up about claiming as I have had many expensive cards over the years and I know for a fact I never agreed to any PPI on credit cards (I have on some loans) My question is can i just write a letter thats straight to the point asking if Ive paid it and if so can i be refunded due to the fact I never agreed to this extra fee? or do I have to ask for T&Cs like the template letters on here? and then fill out the questionaire? will a letter written by me still have the same effect? - what did you guys who have been successful do...

My cards were MBNA, Barclays, GE Capital and HSBC

    Thanks :T

Has anyone had any sucess with reclaiming the PPI on the NatWest College of Law loan scheme? It ended last year for new customers and I paid mine off last year too, but I've put my request letter and form in. It was called the NatWest Professional Trainee Loan Scheme, so dentists, vets, medics, etc will also have had this loan.

Hi I too had a college of law loan, i however recall being given the option to have PPI and it was explained very well, I chose not to have it. If your graduate manager was as good as mine they may not have mis sold to you - I did mine in Chester -Good luck though!

You can ask the Bank if you have had any PPI policies related to your credit cards (especially if the accounts are still active).

You can't just write a request for refund in case you had PPI though, because you need valid and verifiable complaint reasons which you honestly know apply to you in order to complain.

You'll only need to request your T&Cs (or failing that, write a SAR) if you get no joy from simply asking if you had PPI.

    Follow the simple steps here:

  • Hello everyone! After reading the article on this site I have managed to get back £2000 from MBNA. I didnt use any agencies / companies either so the refund is 100% mine! I didnt even have any paperwork as it was all shredded may years ago. this is what I did:

register with noddle.co.uk - here you will get all of your current and closed account information (mortgages / credit cards / loans etc).

They only provde the last 4 digits of the account numbers but this still worked for me.

I simply wrote to EVERYONE on the list complaining about PPI and hey presto - a £2k refund. The only cost to me was some time and some stamps. The easiest £2000 Ive ever made.

If you havent done it DO IT NOW.

    Good Luck!

PS Martin Lewis should be given a knighthood:T

    Hi,

Did you write asking if you had PPI? did you ask for the T&Cs? I dont really know what to say in my letter, i want to just say if I have it I didnt know! so I want a refund...

    Any help would be great

    Thanks :)

It wouldn't be a valid complaint and you risk the Bank treating you with the same contempt you showed them and simply replying in the negative without properly checking.
Do some research of your own and don't waste the time of the Bank's PPI department. It's unfair on the legitimate complainants who have to wait longer due to frivolous complaints like those you propose.

As many as 50% of "complaints" received by Banks never had PPI in the first place.

So do you suggest I send the template letter to ask for the T&Cs? to see if I have it - I dont have any paperwork thats all, and im pretty sure looking at other peoples stories its likely I will have had it

    Thanks

Can I ask how you applied for card and the reason you gave for mis selling ? . Am sending off a SAR to MBNA as I have also had three CC s with them but cannot remember much about application- feel it may have been done online but will need to see what comes back from SAr request .

Sorry for being a little thick but whats an SAR?

In the first instance why not simply contact each lender by telephone and ask them if you had PPI?
If you get no joy with this (and the accounts are closed) the T&Cs are not available to you and you'll have to write them a Subject Access Request (SAR) letter. It costs £10 per lender you write to, but should turn up all records they have on file for you for at least six years and (sometimes) more.
