PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

The fact is that it is NOT a lottery (look at the official FOS figures to see) and it's unwise to look on a forum for evidence of this since it will always be populated by more disgruntled failures than ecstatic successes. I think you also do a disservice to the Banking staff who investigate the complaints and to the Banks themselves who have in place very thorough and rigorous processes to ensure mood swings and/or targets are not possible factors in decision making. Your complaint will have been looked at by more than one person, for a start.
Anyway good luck at FOS (but do remember that front-loading is the most upheld complaint reason, but never a cast iron certainty)
Thanks for that.
I had assumed my claim would have been looked at by one person, signed off, and on they went to the next one.
While its of no use to me it must be encouraging to lurkers to know their claims are not subject to the moodswings/whims of a individual.0 -
Has anyone had any sucess with reclaiming the PPI on the NatWest College of Law loan scheme? It ended last year for new customers and I paid mine off last year too, but I've put my request letter and form in. It was called the NatWest Professional Trainee Loan Scheme, so dentists, vets, medics, etc will also have had this loan. Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.0

I know that premier claims plus will charge me to use them so I was wondering if anybody has reclaimed their PBP, and if you have do you do it the same way as claiming a ppi back, because a ppi is an insurance but not sure what the PBP come under.
And I thought it a bit odd that they phoned me up saying I could claim back from them.0 -

hi
was looking a little bit of advice, Last april 2011. Iwent through a company to claim back PPI my claims where for black horse and first trust bank (tsb) they were took out in 1999 i had both sets of paper work the ppi was added upfront on both cases,
I have a medical illness , but i also work for the public sector and get paid full pay if i was ever of sick.
the tsb i was told that ppi was the only way you got accepted for loan and black horse the box was already filled in.
the thing is the company i used i had to ring them all the timeto see what was happening,
well about last november the last time i phoned them they said they were passing it onto omnibus but i have never had a letter from the company or the omnibus about any of the complaints , should i ring company i used to see if anything is happening they never sent me a ref number or anything from omnibus and i have never recieved any letters from omnibus
any adviced on this would be greatly appriecated
thank you
katie
You will need to have more reasons for mis sell other than you had to take it or no loan, look here
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#step2
for other reasons for mis sell and use any that may apply to you.
If you paid the loan back in one monthly payment and not a separate payment for the PPI, this was Single Premium PPI and this is the reason that you use, the full costs and unfair rebate of this insurance would not have been fully explained to you at the point of sale to make an informed decision.
Ask the bank if you can do the claim again.0 -

None I have heard of on this site, if you have reasons for mis sell then put the claim in.0 -
meerkat2010amy wrote: »HELP WITH SANTANDER!
Hi everyone. I've received a rejection from Santander in respect of 3 storecards (House of Fraser, Burton and River Island)
The rejection is on the basis that I had ticked the box indicating that I required the insurance (copies of the sale agreement were also included in the letter.) They say "it was made clear the policy was optional and that I elected to take out the insurance". They also make the point that I could have cancelled the insurance at any time during the initial 30 day period, after the full T&C had been sent to me.
Has anyone had any similar experience with Santander and can offer any help? Is it worth making the point (again) that the terms of the policy were not made clear to me, and that is why I ticked the box?
Also, I seem to remember someone previously quoting guidance (possibly FSA?) which states that it is not enough for lenders simply to provide paper copy T&C?
Any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
I also have received a rejection letter stating you ticked the box and had 30 days ect? I'm thinking of passing this one on to a ppi claim company to see if they have any joy but before i do does anyone else have any advice? My total debt was £59,366 back in Dec 2006 this is when I took the bull by the horns and rang every creditor. I decided to do this off my own back and not enter a CVA. I am now down to a debt of £2644 and this will be clear in 2014.0 -
Yes. Ask yourself what a claims company will do that you haven't.
Why don't you pass it on to the FOS yourself instead?Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

Look at the official figures, complainants using a CMC are statistically 3% less likely to succeed at FOS than those acting alone!!!
Just send FOS an honest appeal but, if you did voluntarily tick the box, do realise you are just as unlikely to win with a CMC or acting alone...0
