PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Well guys and girls as you can see from my post at the top of this page Lloyds paid money into my account yesterday from a large amount of the complaints we put in.
There were some outstanding still in joint names of my wife and I.
Today I have another letter come through from them telling us we are entitled to another £7191.65.
We can't believe it:j:rotfl:
So far we have had just shy of £14000 back. I still am waiting for the old credit card with lloyds, one small loan with lloyds and an Egg card complaint from years ago.0 -
I followed MoneySavingExpert's advice on seeking PPI compensation from M&S Money (credit card) using all the forms provided. I worked part-time, less than 16 hours, never asked for PPI on the form I completed, yet paid it for several years.
M&S Money have accepted liability and have upheld my complaint. I have been offered all of the three elements back, including the 8% interest etc.
I do have a question, though. Am I entitled to any MORE compensation for mis-selling/time involved in claiming etc than the three elements of contributions and interest, and would I get it if I went to the Ombudsman or would the Ombudsman think that M&S Money have behaved correctly?0 -
It's been a couple of months since i first ready this forum and i can now say i've recieved £3786
For me it was really simple, too simple if truth be told.
Following reading a few pages of the forum, i phoned up EGG money.
I explained i have no paperwork, but believe i had a loan around 10-12years ago.
To my disbelief they checked my name in their system and proceeded to tell me how much PPI i'd paid and how much my loans were for.
They then sent me a complaint form but i used the template from the website and populated it with the detail that EGG had given me. I explained my mulitple reasons for being missold the ppi and sent away the form.
a couple of weeks later i recieved a letter from egg (forgot i'd even sent it to be honest) and it said the complaint had been upheld and they offered me the amount that i have taken.
From accepting the offer it took around another month, but at the end of the day it feels like money for nothing (considering my loan was in 2001!!!)
Thanks again MSE, and keep up the great work

I made 3 telephone calls, one to Egg, one to Barclaycard and the other to Newcastle Building Society.
Each call was simple and I was told there and then that I did have PPI and asked if I wanted to make a claim.
Completed the form, I had no paperwork and only filled in parts of the form that I could.
Six weeks later a letter from Egg offering me £560.
The following week a letter from Barclaycard offering me £7989!!
Barclaycard now paid off, going on holiday tomorrow and hopefully a letter from Newcastle Building society awaits when I return!!
IT REALLY WAS THAT SIMPLE!!!!0 -
ive sent off...
Halifax x4 loan ppi and mortgage cover
Santander x2 loans
mbna x1 credit card
k&co catalogue ppi
tesco loan
I managed to find bits of paper work regarding the above does this usually help speed up the process?
im hoping at least a couple come through ive got nothing to loose!!!0 -
I just recieved over £3200 in PPI for my otherhalf against his loan with Halifax - this has enabled us to do a F&F settlement and clear the debt!!!0

He can put this to FOS, you would not take a product and then not claim on it would you? unless you were stupid
I would not accept this rejection, I would take it all the way.0 -

Reading the successes here has really encouraged me to bite the bullet and claim the (still running) PPI on two BOS credit cards.
Do I need to fill in a separate FOS form for each card (taken out roughly 18 months apart) or can I just phone the PPI complaint number on their website?
Q
You can do these over the phone, they may send you a questionnaire to fill in, if they do then fill it in and send it back.0
