Well done to all Lloyds successes I am pleased for you all:)

May I ask what your initial complaint reasons were?

Thanks in Advance and keep us updated !! ;)

    Hi Cocolal

I told them that the policy was not explained which it was not and that I did have insurance to cover the loans elsewhere if I was out of work, plus all the work benefit.

Lloyds had also annoyed me so I closed my account paying off my loan CC in one lump sum. I had been telling LLoyds that I would be getting a lupm sum so the PPI was not required but they did not listen. The person who I spoke to could see all this on their records and said I closed my account in 2003.

Congrats, when did you put the claim in? Ive been waiting with lloyds since mid may:(

Hi,It was around the 15th May they recieved the questionaire, then after six weeks I received a letter to say they needed another eight weeks. The wait was agony,we where away a couple of weeks ago and all I could think of was getting back to see if we had heard from Lloyds, how sad is that!! All together it was ten weeks till we recieved the offer.Hope you get a good outcome ;)

unfortunately i received a rather comprehensive rejection letter from Halifax today.

It disputed a range of issues including - pressure at point of sale, lack of explanation around costs, staement of needs, my abilty to pay.

All of this aside, at the time of taking the PPI i was in a job that paid 6month + 6 months pay. This is not addressed in the letter, and i felt was the central point of the claim.

In fact, it states that i "did not have any other means to protect the payments" so the PPI was relevant.

I'm quite surprised as i genuinely thought i had a case.

Is this a lost cause? :(

    Thanks as always.

ps this doesnt appear to be a final rejection, it states to provide further evidence within 28 days. after which the complaint will be considered closed

any thoughts on prospects or ways to progress? cheers

I guess if you've got proof of benefits from your job, you could send a copy of that to prove you could have afforded the payments which means you had no need for the PPI.

Also I presume the cost of the PPI was extortionate and (if needed) you would have certainly been able to get a cheaper policy elsewhere. If the full cost wasn't revealed to you at point of sale you can state that information was witheld and you did not want such an expensive policy and would never have knowingly agreed to such a cost.

It's always worth an extra letter.

    hi again
just got home and i have a letter dated 2/8/2012 from the lloyds with the following words--i am writing to update you with our progress concerning your ppi complaint.IT IS POSSIBLE THAT YOU MAY HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF A FINAL DECISION PRIOR TO RECEIVING THIS LETTER.IF THIS IS THE CASE WE APOLOGISE AND WOULD ASK YOU KINDLY DISREGARD THIS LETTER.they go on to say it could take a further 8 weeks to resolve the complaint .this is due to the high volume of claims being received blah blah blah
what do make of that ?
its as i feared still at least not been rejected YET
