Hi,
Just wanted to say a BIG thank you to all that have given excellent advice on here. Have just received an offer of £1065 from Black Horse:j Took about 10 weeks in total.
=============================================
hi beerow
What reasons did you give them for the miss-selling?
I stated that it was already input on the agreement and that it was advised to me that I would not get the loan without it. I also stated that I get 6 months full pay if unable to work due to illness (maybe that helped)0 -
Hi everyone :-)
I'm a big fan of this site but I'm usually a lurker rather than posting myself. However I wanted to share my PPI success story with you and urge anyone who is thinking of trying to claim to just go for it!!
7 weeks ago I put in a claim with HSBC for several loans I had with them from approx. 2000-2007. I didn't have any paperwork and couldn't remember exact dates or amounts but was able to get the loan account numbers from HSBC customer services. A week after posting I received the standard response letter from them saying they would need 8 weeks to investigate. Today I thought I would give them a ring to see if there had been any progress, imagine my surprise when they told me an offer letter was in the post for £9358.15!!! :j
I'm absolutely over the moon, this is so much more than I expected!! Please anyone who is thinking of using a claims company DON'T!! It's so easy to do yourself, especially with the help provided on this site0 -
My claim was up held by Capital One £400 charges £600 interest and £123 interest. They will pay my card off in 9 days and the remaining sent will be sent in 28 days:beer::T
Also success with TSB credit card ( first account.)
success with Barclays.
Failed House of Frazer sent apple in and they could not send a record of the telephone conversation that I had taken PPI with as prof as it was a long time ago and the final decision on the matter
Thank you Money saving expert for encouraging me to do this As I am dyslexic and struggle with letters. The templates really helped. So pleased i carried on with it.:T Now my debits are getting smaller .:rotfl:0 -

Hi notamoneygrabber
I went into my Lloyds branch and enquired about two loans ,one from 1997 and one from 2001.
They give me the loan account numbers there and then and said that they both had front loaded ppi on.
Hope this helps0 -

MSE, YOU BEAUTY! :T
Reclaiming: Credit Card PPI
Provider: MBNA (originally Ryanair-branded credit card)
Letter or ombudsman: Just one letter!
Applied in a rush -- got collared in an airport queue, I needed some credit, it seemed like a good idea at the time. That was October 2003. Eventually got round to cancelling the PPI, seven years later.
Having thought that, well, I signed an agreement and I'm not an idiot (although clearly I was!), I didn't reclaim. Until now.
Read your guide, filled in the standard questionnaire (after a good browse through years and years of statements to find the dates), and posted it on July 27th. I was hoping to get a couple of grand back.
Got a letter last week from MBNA, saying they'd received my complaint. Today, I've had another one saying that my complaint's been upheld, and they're going to send me a couple of grand!
For what it's worth, here's what I put into Section E:
tell us what happened
I was offered a Ryanair credit card (run by MBNA) while in a long airport queue. While the card matched my needs, I was not aware at the time (or at least, the point was not emphasised) that I was signing up for PPI.
When I received my letter of confirmation and insurance certificate (copies enclosed), I thought that it was a small percentage of my balance (0.72%), and accepted that I’d signed up for it.
As I was at the time worried about redundancy, my firm having laid off nearly 20% of its workforce over the previous 3 years, I decided to accept the PPI option.
finally, tell us why you are now unhappy with the insurance
I eventually heard more about PPI, and realised that I was actually more than adequately covered through my work package (through redundancy pay-out or life assurance). The saleswoman who sold me the policy did not ask me any questions about these at all.
I would have stood to get at least 6 months’ salary (at least £??k) as part of my redundancy package, which would have paid off the credit card in its entirety. Likewise illness, as I would have been supported for up to a year as part of my work package, with a payout of 4 times annual salary if I was rendered unable to work permanently.
The PPI policy was clearly not in my best interests, and the saleswoman certainly did not check to see if this was the case. Once signed for, I did not realise (initially) that I could cancel the policy.
I did cancel my PPI policy (by phoning up MBNA) in October 2010, but did not realise at the time that I might be able to claim back some of the money I’d paid out.
---
Hopefully there'll be people in very similar situations who can copy some of that.
I also filed a PPI complaint with Egg, about a loan I took from them. Hopefully I'll have more good news soon!
