  • Can anyone tell me what Lloydstsb actually call you for? as stated before they told my daughter that they had tried 10 times to contact her which she says is not true and then got a letter to say no. So we are wondering why they would phone if they have decided she was not able to reclaim. Enlighten me please someone. Thanks

I got a letter from Lloyds yesterday saying they're offering me £10,200.60 for 3 loans I had going back around 10 years.

They've given me interest on all of them at 8%. Also because the second loan was topped up into the third one, they're saying that the balance I transferred was higher cost due to PPI so they've
given me money back for that.

My reason for claiming was, I was never told about any health exclusions, and I've had Asthma since a kid.

They did say they'd use it to pay any outstanding money from them. As i've still got a small balance on a loan with them, i'd planned to pay that off ifI got anything anyway.

All I did was fill in the template form on Which's website (link from an e-mail from MSE) with my three loan details and reason why, and post it off in May. Not bad for the cost of an envelope and stamp.

I'm not getting all excited yet as knowing my luck something will happen and it will actually be much less than they are offering me. Not that I distrust banks of course. ha

Could I ask when you sent your claim in please, its just that ours was sent on 31st May and wondered if yours was sent around then? Thank you its good to see some positive outcomes from Lloyds. Well done on your win.

Hi,My Hubby had three old loans with Lloyds(had forgotten about them),and when he did the SAR they sent screenshots of the loans. They had account numbers and reference numbers on them, but when we got the offer, they said they could only give a goodwill gestures of £1200 each, as they where old loans,(must be from the late 90's)they had no figures to go on,but at the side of the screenshot it did say personal loan with insurance. With those three loans, i asked them to look into them for me but never filled a questionaire in, only for the last loan that finished in 2007.Wishing you the best of luck :)

hi we did the same as you and got what seems to be the same printout but we had loans on there like you saying with insurance but some without which we have claimed and won.we just have the 2 outstanding now so we wait as they have asked for more time.

    Hi notamoneygrabber

I went into my Lloyds branch and enquired about two loans ,one from 1997 and one from 2001.

They give me the loan account numbers there and then and said that they both had front loaded ppi on.

    Hope this helps :)

hi my branch had nothing pre 2001 did a SAR waste of time but got a printout from them similar to banks with the older loans on there but missing some of the later ones we have claimed successfully for.talk about knowing what they are supposed to be doing.NOT SO.i have no idea whether they both have PPI on although one does say with insurance .we wait patiently.what will be will be.

Now i'm reading up about the tax I probably have to pay on the 8% interest they've given me. A bit miffed about it to say the least.
I can't believe how much this government takes off us.
  • Hi

My husband has received 5 goodwill gestures from Natwest even though he showed he paid the full PPI amount.

For example: PPI of £873 paid; goodwill gesture offered of £354.82 which breaks down as follows: £235.28 goodwill gesture; interest £249.43 minus 29% tax.

Any idea why the full PPI would not had been made? All 5 offers are considerably lower than the PPI amounts; still waiting on 4 more offers and expecting the same thing now. Guessing it could be consolidation loans?

    Thanks in advance.
  • The RBS are really playing avoidance tactics. Before I complained I called Nat West to confirm when a credit card I own had started and if I had PPI right from the start..I only had statements from 1999 which clearly show PPI. A gentleman told me that my card started on 23/8/93 and it had PPI from the outset. Plus the card is still live and had PPI on it up until last Saturday, when I cancelled it. I had a letter on Saturday from RBS to say that after their 'investigation' they had "no evidence of PPI Insurance being included with your loan due to the passage of time"...so I phoned Nat West CC straight away and the lady was able to tell me all of the details again, right back to '93 and suggested that if she could see them on her screen then they could they could easily find the information!! I have written to RBS again so I will see soon if they discover the information.
  • Thank for all your advice Martin and this fabulous site has really empowered me and my mum!
I claimed on behalf of my mum who had numerous loans (including re-financed), overdraft and credit card protection with Barclays. Despite closing the account in 2005 due to how Barclays had treated mum she had kept massive amounts of paperwork dating back till 1996.
Sifting through I raised issue on 4 loans and their associated PPI as she had been told she had to have but due to pre-existing condition and subsequent further cancer treatment the insurance would have never paid out. The fantastic news is so far we have agreed a settlement of £4200 on one loan, whilst the other 3 are currently being calculated. We have also had offers for the overdraft and barclaycard PPI but on questioning how they had calculated the amounts offered discovered Barclays had missed out a further 5 years of PPI subscriptions paid as they did not have the data!
My biggest advice is do not give up hope, no matter how complex or number or loans and ALWAYS question and follow up in regards to how they have calculated PPI SUBSCRIPTIONS and make sure all complaints have been addressed so match up their references with the products. I have now also helped an aunty claim and completed claims for myself too, so :T just do it! x
