Its an offshore Bank, Isle of Man Bank part of Natwest

Hi, give FOS a call as I don't know if this can be chased with it being the isle of man, I could be wrong though, but I remember someone on here ages ago regarding the isle of man with a complaint and I am sure they could not go for it so ask the FOS.

Hi folks. I am new to this forum and recently sent martins form to ge money for a 1999 ppi reclaim. they agnowledged receiving the form and the next day another reply saying that i was time barred. they also went on to say they were not at any time members of GISC and that this letter was their final response on the matter. Do i go to the ombodsman at this point or travel another avenue, any advice at this point would be appreciated and thanks.
You will need to contact FOS and ask if you go for the insurer with this.

    Hi

My husband has received 5 goodwill gestures from Natwest even though he showed he paid the full PPI amount.

For example: PPI of £873 paid; goodwill gesture offered of £354.82 which breaks down as follows: £235.28 goodwill gesture; interest £249.43 minus 29% tax.

Any idea why the full PPI would not had been made? All 5 offers are considerably lower than the PPI amounts; still waiting on 4 more offers and expecting the same thing now. Guessing it could be consolidation loans?

    Thanks in advance.
As these were all consolidation loans, you only get the PPI back that you paid to the settlement as you have not repaid the loan or PPI to term end.

    Hi All
First post on here even though ive been watching the posts over the last few weeks since using the templates and finally sent of to reclaim. update so far
Egg Loan - claim upheld but still no cheque 15 days later as they said
    Egg CC - Still investigating
Lloyds TSB Loans - letter today advsing of another 8 weeks to investigate
Lloyds TSB CC - Rejection letter today with the following points
Card was taken out in 2003 so they werent regulated by the FSA, The advisor did not have any other alternatives to offer me other than PPI and they are of the opionion that he would not have told me that i had to have it to get the card as this wasnt compulsary for the credit card application to be accepted. They went on to say that i had been given sufficent information that it was optional and if i have new evidence i can write back to them or go to FOS.
I have given all the evidence i have on the initial application so nothing new to add and it now seems to boil down to the advisors word against mine.
Would appreciate some help on wether i should go straight to FOS or write back and ask them to reconsider..
    thanks in advance

They were not regulated but send proof if you have it?????/ contact FOS, pit the complaint into them give as much info as you can to show you had no need of this PPI, life insurance, good sick pay from employer etc.

Hi I complained like hell on Monday with my bank manager about my ppi miss sold got a letter from Natwest today saying they are upholding my complaint and for me to sign a cancelation ppi form and send it back and they will send out a letter offer to me, does this mean i will get all my ppi back?
  • Hi im new to this forum (posting wise) but may i say what a great website this is! it gave me the confidence to claim back PPi from Barclays!! well happy

i put in a complaint on 8th july for 2 loans (top up) i have had a letter today saying they will pay me £1932.... im very happy but i have a question. On the letter it only has one refference which is the second loan i had...i filled out 2 questionaires that barclays sent me in the initial complaint. It seems like my first loan has been ignored. Or is it me being impatient and silly and they are prob looking into it?

    any ideas?
also it states i have to pay the tax man. Any ideas how much?
many thanks! so glad this forum is about as i might have 1. not complained and 2. used a claims company!
  • hi again
a phone call on a saturday well i never, thought they only worked mon--fri at the PPI
must be unusual for them to ring you never heard of that before.
    good luck and enjoy.

Think the call was from my local branch as the lad was trying to get me to open a new account with better interest to put all my money in. :rotfl:

    hi jane
do u not think its strange that you had a call from your bank way before it opens and one assumes he knows how much has gone into your account.
i presume he either told you or you enquired.
looks to me as your branch are either nosey or have had an update on customers who may have won PPI payments overnight but still a bit early for a saturday.
DID YOU SEE HMRC TEL NO?
    is nothing private anymore .
  • I had confirmation on 25 July from the FOS that my claim against Black Horse had been upheld. :) happy days. It told me in the letter that I had 14 days to dispute the details, after which the FOS would assume I was ok with it and contact Black Horse. They would then send the offer to me. The FOS letter does warn me that BH may take anything up to 8 weeks to send the offer. As I am very impatient and very skint, I wondered if anyone else had been in the same position and if so, how long they had waited for their offer?? I know every case is different, but any info would give me some idea of the time these things are really taking.

    many thanks.
