Having money trouble and health has suffered for it but last 2 days have seen a massive change in fortune.
Just received notification from a well known secured loan lender that my ppi complaints against 3 loans (last of which was cleared early in 2007) have been up held... The total refund after tax has been deducted from the 8% simple interest pa is a life changing £41554.11. Didn't even have to fill in a form ; phoned to confirm the address to send it to and they took my complaint over the phone.
Have already received £2951 from a credit card and have 3 more claims waiting to hear from.
Thank you mse. Can now see a bright light at the end of what has been a very long and dark tunnel!
Update: have received my cheques now:). In addition, letter today from barclays re. Overdraft insurance. Complaint up held. £2990 to be refunded into my account. So far 3 out of 5 claims have paid out totalling £47500. Still waiting to hear from 2 more...0 -
Hi guys. I've been lurking on this forum for ages. I plucked up the courage to ask my bank for SAR details and sent off the various letters after reading many many posts here.
Thanks to the wealth of information I've won the following claims (My employer pays 6months sick pay and I'm also self employed).
Natwest Credit Card PPI: £2,409 - Payment received, waiting on positive balance cheque
Natwest Loan PPI: £3,008 - Awaiting payment
MBNA Credit Card PPI: £433 - Awaiting payment
V12 Finance - Awaiting decision
I am now debt free and have set up my loan/cc payments to go into my savings account every month instead.
All for the price of a few stamps, brilliant!0 -

Hi all,
well initially I won with MBNA, got back 5200 pound, so thought I would go to Halifax and also Barclays.. both of them have rejected me.
Halifax have said that they my affordability was in order and so didnt affect the card, the premiums or whether I was accepted as it, as ppi wasnt taken out until I rang to activate the card. Barclays have replied with " we have identified that my application for PPI was submitted by post. At the point of applying for PPI, as no advice was given the process required your customer to select the specific type of cover they required"
"we are satisfied that the information presented, accurately described the scope of the policy, and was sufficient to provide them with all of the information necessary"
I had no need for either of these products as I was in 12 months pay of sick etc and therefore any bills would have been covered as normal.
Should I go on to SAR both of them , or just go to the FOS ..? Cheers for all your help...]0 -
Hi there,
I am new to this site, so I am not sure if i'm posting in the correct place or not. I was just wondering if anyone thought I had a leg to stand on with my PPI claim. I have a credit card with HSBC and am ashamed to say that I didn't realise that I was paying PPI on it - I still am paying it. I've completed the questionnaire and posted it off to HSBC saying that I couldn't have been informed about it as I would have never taken it out and asked them to cancel it, but I was wondering do you think I have any case? Or will they just say I should've checked it? I can't remember when I had the credit card first, but i've definitely had it for the 6 years that I keep hearing mentioned and the balance has been up as high as £8k, so i've definitely paid quite a lot in PPI. I've had my first letter back from HSBC acknowledging receipt of it, but just wondering if anyone else had any any similar experience! I'd be grateful for any feedback! Thanks:)0 -

Its nice to hear from someone with good news from Lloyds, i was begining to think they were rejecting everyone at the moment.
I have been following Jane on here as she put her complaint in the week before me.
I telephoned them to log my complaint on Monday 25th june and hubby sent his by post, we both had our letters to say they were being looked into and would respond to our complaint as soon as they can, Hubby had a phone call yesterday to comfirm the reason for the complaint, but i havent (although if it is from a call center i tend to hang as we have been bombarded with calls about PPI) so i may have hung up on them oops.
I am on week 6 now so not much longer to wait i hope. :rotfl:0 -
LLoyds success
I have not posted anything recently but I have reading everyones tails of woe about Lloyds bank and I hope this will give some of you some encouragement.
I call Loyds on the 23 May 12 and log may complaint for three loans dating back 2000. Aprrox 6 week later I received a call from them asking about the reason I was complaining. Two week after that I received a letter to say that they needed an additional 8 weeks to investigate. (At the time I was not happy because I got this letter a few days before the 8 weeks was up)
I kept phoning them weekly to ask if they had an update and I was also told they are investigating my complaint.
I called them on Monday of this week and the nice lady read the letter that they sent on Monday stating that they have up held my complaint to the tune of over £5000.:j:j:j
I now await their letter.
