unfortunately i received a rather comprehensive rejection letter from Halifax today.

It disputed a range of issues including - pressure at point of sale, lack of explanation around costs, staement of needs, my abilty to pay.

All of this aside, at the time of taking the PPI i was in a job that paid 6month + 6 months pay. This is not addressed in the letter, and i felt was the central point of the claim.

In fact, it states that i "did not have any other means to protect the payments" so the PPI was relevant.

I'm quite surprised as i genuinely thought i had a case.

Is this a lost cause? :(

    Thanks as always.

ps this doesnt appear to be a final rejection, it states to provide further evidence within 28 days. after which the complaint will be considered closed

I have looked at quite a few pages on here but cannot really see any feedback on Barclays on wins or losses. I recently wrote to Barclays about two loans and they have replied about one of them and flatly rejected the claim saying they have finished investigating, its a no and we will not withold my complaint saying they take into consideration various factors when deciding. They have not said the reasons its just a no.

Has anyone else had rejections like this and if so have you gone to the FOS and won???

    HELP!!!!! ANYONE GOT ANY ADIVCE.

    Regards
    Craig

    Hello,

I filled out the template letter and sent my complaint to Barclays around 6 weeks ago regarding 2 loans with PPI from 1994 through to 2003. I recieved their initial response and in turn filled out their questionnaire.
My loan details were roughly, Loan payments £154, which I believe at least £53 of which was PPI for those 9 years.

They replied yesterday with what looked like a standard final response letter informing that with everything considered they did NOT think I had been mis-sold my PPI policy. !!!!!!?
They admit I had one but are adamant it was NOT mis-sold, despite the fact that nobody knew ANYTHING about PPI insurance on loans in 1994. In any event, I was a bit down at getting this response because I mistakenly believed Barclays had come to some kind of agreement to settle these claims, clearly mine doesn't fit the criteria.

Please please please can someone reassure me that this is not necessarily a bad thing and that I will still stand a good chance if I go to the Ombudsman?

I have loan references and bank statements but don't have PPI insurance documents. In their response, Barclays have in essence admitted I had PPI though, rather that It was not mis-sold.

Would be grateful for any advice or guidance or tips in my complaint to the ombudsman.

    Thanks alot for your help!
Hi did you get anywhere with your Barclays claim. I have today received the same letter just a blank no and the case is closed letter telling me to go to the FOS if I wanted to. Im going to write to the FOS tomorrow but wondered if anyone had given you any advice.

    Regards Craig

    LLoyds success

I have not posted anything recently but I have reading everyones tails of woe about Lloyds bank and I hope this will give some of you some encouragement.

I call Loyds on the 23 May 12 and log may complaint for three loans dating back 2000. Aprrox 6 week later I received a call from them asking about the reason I was complaining. Two week after that I received a letter to say that they needed an additional 8 weeks to investigate. (At the time I was not happy because I got this letter a few days before the 8 weeks was up)

I kept phoning them weekly to ask if they had an update and I was also told they are investigating my complaint.

I called them on Monday of this week and the nice lady read the letter that they sent on Monday stating that they have up held my complaint to the tune of over £5000.:j:j:j

    I now await their letter.

Its nice to hear from someone with good news from Lloyds, i was begining to think they were rejecting everyone at the moment.
I have been following Jane on here as she put her complaint in the week before me.
I telephoned them to log my complaint on Monday 25th june and hubby sent his by post, we both had our letters to say they were being looked into and would respond to our complaint as soon as they can, Hubby had a phone call yesterday to comfirm the reason for the complaint, but i havent (although if it is from a call center i tend to hang as we have been bombarded with calls about PPI) so i may have hung up on them oops.
I am on week 6 now so not much longer to wait i hope. :rotfl:

I'll keep u updated Lyn as your only a week behind me :rotfl:
