    Help please!!!

After waiting over 16 weeks and getting fed up with very, I phoned once again to be told my claim, going back to 1999 wasn't getting upheld, reasons for not holding was even though I was unemployed when the cover started, said it would then cover my husband. Said there was also other benefits, said found all paperwork and nothing shows that this was mis sold in anyway. But the 2006 one is being upheld as they can't find any paperwork or reasons of how this policy was sold to me, I find it funny that they have found paperwork from 1999 but not from 2006, plus in 2006 I was working and 1999 I was unemployed. Now taking it to FOS when I receive the letter rejecting my claim.

Forget these chase up calls unless you have been waiting significantly longer than the eight weeks the Bank are allowed.
  • :jIt appears I paid PPI on all 5 cards over the past 7 years. I wrote to them all in May 2012 using the standard letter from this site, requesting a copy of credit agreement & t&c's. Each have written back, two of the cards I had actually an agreed settlement of the debt following my divorce (MBNA and Capital One) and they have stated that if I am owed anything, they will use the money against the early agreed settlement?? Not sure if they can do this so advice would be good. Citicard (now Opus) have stated they cannot trace my account, even though I paid them £10 to supply copy statements for my divorce and funny enough they found my details then! Barclaycard and Marbles are still to write back so today I will write to them all again notifying them that I believe that I was mis-sold PPI and await a form to complete to pursue this claim.... I will persevere with this as having read all the threads, its about time the consumer is not ripped off anymore!!

  • Well after reading everyones stories on MSE, I decided to give it a go, I took my loan out in 2008 with WELCOME FINANCE and apparently my PPI was taken out with BLUE SKY FINANCE. I filled in the questionaire and sent to Welcome Finance in March 2012, a couple of weeks later I received a letter from them telling me I needed to contact BLUE SKY FINANCE who were the company that actually sold me the PPI, so I sent them the form in April, by June I hadn't heard anything from them so chased up with a letter asking for a response, by July I still hadn't heard anything so I sent a letter and complaints form to the Ombudsman, as of date I still haven't heard anything from anyone:(, so I am just waiting to see if I hear anything soon, fingers crossed. Any advice would be greatful.:)

  • Well, finally gone and done it. Made the phone call to RBS about PPI. Got paperwork for 2 loans and guy on phone gave me an address to write to for a spreadsheet for information on any other loans with PPI also an address for credit cards, wast most helpful.
  • I was approached by this group of solicitors back in Febrauary 2011 re PPI claim, I thought nothing ventured so allowed them to persue my claim against welcome finance who i had had finance with for many years, i received a settlemtnt figure in November 2011, agreed the amount and sent the signed agreement back, it was returned as i had not signed in the right place, this form was going backwards and forwards to the solicitor from November until March 2012, I was contacting the solicitor every week for an update.

I then received a letter from welcome via this firm of solicitors in March 2012 to say they had miscalculated their figures and i was due an increase in their settlement, HOORAH i thought as they said they would pay imininently.....

... We are now in August..... I have still had no pay out... despite weekly calls to Robert Meaton, they do not appear to be hurrying themselves along with this and my understanding is that until Welcome pay out, they dont get paid... am i wrong in thinking this? I rarely get to speak to my claims manager, she rarely returns my calls and how don't know how to proceed any further with this.

Has anyone experrienced Robert Meaton Solicitors? or could anyone offer any advice?

Thanks for listening to my rant

  • Hi newbie here pls be nice, been stalking for months and my story like so many others so finally decided to claim back ppi from RBS, genuine story as RBS had me on my knees for years due to this insurance. Telephone claim on 2nd July to be informed I would receive letter. No letter rec. so telephone again on 26th July to be informed a letter had been sent to me the previous day but would take 5 - 10 days (???) and I had 7 claims for ppi (thought it was 5). 10 days up today and postman been and no letter. Telephoned again this morning to be informed letter was sent out 4th August (totally contradiciting the 25th July date), so who's the liar(s) at RBS, are they all taught how to lie ? Anyway I now have to wait another 5-10 days for a copy of the letter which was sent out on the 26th June & 4th July ???? Anybody else had this happening ? Any advice ?

I submitted a ppi claim to halifax who have sent me a cheque !!! ROFL which I received 11.7, telling me as explained in our previous letter of 25.6. I have phoned several times for a copy of the letter of 25.6 which I never received and submitted an online complaint which answered me with an automated reply, saying we will telephone you within two days. That was on 18.7. I have yet to hear from them. So although I have got a refund of my money paid out I have no clue how they worked it out!
