PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hello
May I ask what your complaint reasons were?
Lloyds appear to be rejecting lots of complaints at the moment, I would go to the FOS . What were their rejection reasons?
I have read the stats from the lloyds complaints that are took to the fos and they are ruling a majority proportion in favour of the consumer
I've got a complaint in with them too- I'm not holding my breath but I am interested to know why they rejected yours
Thanks
I had life insurance and critical ill cover but was still sold the PPI along with being told it would better my chances if I took the cover out, very pushy person as well. But not been rejected been told upheld.0 -

I rang the bank on the 21 June, had a letter a week later saying looking into my complaint, 26th July lloyds rang me asking to confirm my reasons. Then today I rang them to find out what was going on? And was told a letter is on its way. Asked if upheld or rejected and he said upheld but watch this space.

Hi again!
I have complained about 4 loans in total which the first one was taken out in 2000 then the other 3 from there on. The last two had been paid off this year. I work in finance so I chase people for a living so I havent got any problems with chasing them for my money. Give them a call and chase them.0 -
Just wondered if anyone has had a claim upheld by EGG credit card taken out online in 2001 or around that time.
I have been refused on the grounds of
'I ticked the ppi box'
It was a non advised sale etc....
MBNA have also refused to uphold my claim saying much the same with a postal form I filled out in 2001.
I have passed the MBNA reclaim to the FOS as MBNA admitted that I was not even eligible to claim if I had been sick etc as I had / have NHS benefits.
When I asked EGG the same question - they said they don't know! I will refer to FOS to look into it but in the meantime
I am Interested to hear other peoples experiences with EGG Credit Card
Many thanks
Hi Mouse2003
I had one of the same thing from Barclaycard who took over my egg account which was paid off this is now with the FOS so fingers crossed.
Now waiting for the offer from MBNA after FOS upheld in my favour 9 week and counting for MBNA to send some figures for an offer

Hi all
I made my complaint to Lloyds over the phone 16th May regarding 5 loans, told them I didn't recall having PPI or being told about all of my options at any time. They contacted right on 8 weeks to say they need a little longer, possibly another 8 weeks  I rung them this monday for an update, complaint upheld and a letter has been sent offering £7409. I rung wednesday to accept, thursday the money was in my account. Very pleased and grateful to everyone who posted advice and experiences as I kept tabs on how others were doing as I waited. Thanks again and good luck to those going through the 8 week wait! :beer:0 -
First time poster so please bear with me!
Heard about ppi reclaim over the last couple of years through media and reclaim shark advertising, as I guess many others have, and knew that I had paid this through a credit card with MBNA.
Heard a few people at work talking of refunds of 2,3,4 even 6k being paid out but always thought "not for me" as I really believed that it would save me if the ever present threat of redundancy ever happened. I also thought that any claim may damage the credit facility I had with MBNA so just fell into the cowardly routine of ignorance.
Only after reading page upon page from this forum did I realise that the ppi I had was completely useless as my employer provides very generous sickness cover etc, and that any claim would have no negative impact. The reports from many suggested that the process was easy enough to self complete and great successes had been experienced so I thought I would chance it.
Contacted MBNA who confirmed I had had ppi in place for 15 years! Raised a complaint late May, completed a form as advised on this site, informed in early July that it was upheld and today received a cheque for over £19000!
The letter attached states in final settlement of the claim but has no calculation explanation, just a total, is this normal?
Also I remember 10 years or so ago going through a period of paying late and getting fees applied. Am I able to claim this back or will this settlement annul any further claim for different reasons?
Finally, thank you to all the wise contributors whos forum posts gave me the courage to attempt in the first place, what a team!!!0 -
Hello, I am after a little advice if anyone could help me please?....well here goes... I'm a newbie so please bear with!....
I wrote to Egg asking for a full breakdown and a copy of my loan agreement for a credit card account which closed in 2009. I sent them a cheque for 10 pound as the account is closed. They have cashed the cheque and have sent me all the statements for the 2 year period that the account was active which clearly state that PPI was paid, but have sent me another letter saying that they are under no obligation to provide a copy of the loan agreement as the account is now closed??
I'm not quite sure what my next move needs to be?! I'm contemplating filling in the questionnaire anyway and trying to claim with just the statements???
Any ideas will be most welcome!

hi i put a claim in for mis sold ppi on a loan i took out with lloyds, due to the sum £11,000 i was informed i needed to have ppi due to the loan amount .ppi was added to the loan at the begining of the term.
i had a response from lloyds saying there staff are trained and the loan decision would not of been said on me taking out ppi, i wrote back saying i am telling them what i was told and the fact the ppi was added at the begining of the term.
i have got a letter today saying there decision stands any suggestions as to what to do next over this matter
cheers sharon x0
