Another update as postman just been lol.

what is the best way to claim ppi on credit cards ,just want to cover all bases ,thanks
There is no best way really, just put the claim in with the reasons for mis sell try to get as much info as you can across to them, if you had cover elsewhere then let them know, put it in writing and keep copies, see what they come back with.0 -

Take this to FOS if you disagree with the rejections and it is the banks final response, put why and the FOS will decide.wannabee_saver wrote: »Hi All,
Just received a response from Barclaycard regarding a PPI complaint on my old credit card with them and EGG.
Basically they are UNABLE to uphold my complaint for a number of reasons (all of which look like generic copy & paste responses).
Just wondered if its worth going to the ombudsmen or if anyone else had trouble with Barclaycard etc...
Thanks
If it is not a final response, then send the reasons you reject their findings back to the bank.0 -
They are not obliged to tell you that you can get cover elsewhere, if this is not a final response from the bank then write back to them and reject the decision, reiterate why you did not need the PPI and just because you ticked the application does not mean that you understood the PPI and the cost, or that you had a need for it.ongoing...
A PPI claim against Capital One has been defended on the basis that I ticked the PPI box on the application form. Does the fact that I was not made aware that other insurance providers were available enable me to go to FOS?0 -
Depending on the year this loan was taken out, you need to contact Ge and ask.elaine1960 wrote: »Here goes I hae been watching this site for some time and looking at all the success stories is great, so I decieded to look at my own past and present loans/credit cards to see if I had PPI on any of them.
Took out a loan with GE money (can't remember exact date as I did not have paper work) I found a letter for an early settlement which was dated 16/06/2006 for £11,013.08 which we paid off in full, so I contacted GE money to see if PPI was added, they confirmed that it was I asked them to start process for refund as I did not ask for PPI as I knew it would not cover me as I have several illnesses which PPI does not cover.
Got a letter today rejecting my claim stating " Based on information you have provided any complaint you may have concerning sale of PPI policy is time barred under the limitation Act 1980, and this was their final response to this matter".:(
Can any one advise if it is worth while pursuing this.
Any advice is appreciated.
If it was taken out before 04 it is possible that the FOS may suggest the insurer route, if it was after 04 then send this to FOS , you have only recently found out about PPI mis sell, put that this was Single Premium PPI and the full cost and unfair rebates of this PPI were not explained to you at the point of sale to make an informed decision, had you known the full cost you would not have taken this product.0 -
Has anyone had any Lloyds claims on loans upheld lately
As mentioned above, it seems that they are all being rejected (even if front loaded) and a long time since someone told us of a lloyds success !!
I suggest for all with rejections from Lloyds to send them to FOS, hopefully they will deal with Lloyds and sort this out.0 -
Hello, I am after a little advice if anyone could help me please?....well here goes... I'm a newbie so please bear with!....
I wrote to Egg asking for a full breakdown and a copy of my loan agreement for a credit card account which closed in 2009. I sent them a cheque for 10 pound as the account is closed. They have cashed the cheque and have sent me all the statements for the 2 year period that the account was active which clearly state that PPI was paid, but have sent me another letter saying that they are under no obligation to provide a copy of the loan agreement as the account is now closed??
I'm not quite sure what my next move needs to be?! I'm contemplating filling in the questionnaire anyway and trying to claim with just the statements???
Any ideas will be most welcome!
Thank you
The statements are fine, the agreement may not help you as most CC PPI is taken when you phone to activate the card or in a slaes call later.
Put the claim in.0 -
