ongoing...
A PPI claim against Capital One has been defended on the basis that I ticked the PPI box on the application form. Does the fact that I was not made aware that other insurance providers were available enable me to go to FOS?0 -
Here goes I hae been watching this site for some time and looking at all the success stories is great, so I decieded to look at my own past and present loans/credit cards to see if I had PPI on any of them.
Took out a loan with GE money (can't remember exact date as I did not have paper work) I found a letter for an early settlement which was dated 16/06/2006 for £11,013.08 which we paid off in full, so I contacted GE money to see if PPI was added, they confirmed that it was I asked them to start process for refund as I did not ask for PPI as I knew it would not cover me as I have several illnesses which PPI does not cover.
Got a letter today rejecting my claim stating " Based on information you have provided any complaint you may have concerning sale of PPI policy is time barred under the limitation Act 1980, and this was their final response to this matter".:(
Can any one advise if it is worth while pursuing this.
Any advice is appreciated.0 -

Has anyone had any Lloyds claims on loans upheld lately
As mentioned above, it seems that they are all being rejected (even if front loaded) and a long time since someone told us of a lloyds success !! :think:Rooney :dance:0 -
Wahheeeyyy
Just thought I would post to say thanks for your help.
I was inspired to act following reading your posts guys.
Though I may have been missold as I received full company sick pay, and like many people thought if I refused the PPi I would not be successfull in my application.
One simple phone call to santander about a £5000 loan I took out in 2003 and paid off in 2006 was made on the 4th June 2012, quickly received the standard eight week letter, followed by one at four weeks, eight weeks was up on Monday so I called and was told they were accessing records and should know within two weeks, but received a call yesterday confirming a payout off £1014.25p.
Expect a call Barclaycard and Egg your next.
To all people think about it.. wondering about it.. or knowing about it .. just do it.
Thanks again for all the inspiration

:jJust want to say thanks to all the Money Saving Experts for the advice in re-claiming PPI. Letter rec'd today from Santander offering over £3000 for 1 claim!!!! Claimed in June 2012, 1 phone call and 1 letter was all it took. Did consider the claims company route before reading the advice on this site and chanced going it alone. My advice to everyone is DIY!!!! Still waiting on Halifax responding again after an initial refusal......0
