hi everybody this is for your own good.
You are being put through to manila when the lines get very busy ---either ask to speak someone u.k based or hang up and try again .it does work be polite tell them your hearing is impaired or its a bad line do not get involved with these people its to put you off.

I followed the advice on here about reclaiming my PPI that I took out when we remortgaged. The PPI was through AWD which is now part of Legal and General. It was an upfront lump sum payment that was added on to the mortgage. I sent a covering letter with the form, had an acknowledgement reply, then a short phone conversation with the man dealing with the complaint. I'm now expecting money in my bank in the next couple of weeks. The PPI cost £9870 and I'm getting a full refund, plus interest :-)
Thanks to this site, otherwise I would have lost about a quarter of it on someone else doing it for me!0 -
So the answer is to try and speak nice to them to get someone who knows what your complaint is aboutnotamo_will_neygrabber wrote: »hi everybody this is for your own good.

Not sure whether to believe this ?? They didnt get any ideas of figures or if they will be offsetting against my 2 barclaycards which are in DMP so I will be waiting for the postman to bring me some good news .fingers crossed0

All the posts on here seem to suggest single premium ppi claims are almost always upheld.
So far i,ve had 2 out of 2 rejected with lloyds.
I,ve used forms and used advice off here, so don,t think i,m doing anything wrong.
Would I have had any more joy using a claim,s company? No. lloyds would have received exactly the same form and i,m certainly paying no-one 30% + vat to be my postman/woman.
There seems to be a lot of rejection,s on here from lloyd,s. Is it a trend? I don,t know, and I suspect no-one else on here does.
I,ve just composed my 2nd letter to lloyd,s asking them to re-consider. I really don,t mind going to fos, if lloyds want to keep my money for 12 months ok. where else can you get 8% on your money?
Obviously I,d like my money sooner rather than later but the longer they stall the more it will cost them.
Please folks dont use a claim company. Even though its taking me a while when i get my cash, which i,m sure i will it,s all mine.0 -

If this was me in your shoes I'd be simply joining the queue for the Ombudsman.
But maybe that's just me.0 -
Hi,
My husband has received a final response rejection letter from HSBC for a credit car he took out in January 2005.
He is self employed and I work for the DWP so would have received 6 months full pay in the event of sickness etc.
They state that they do not hold the original documentation but, at the time we took out the card, we would have been given 30days to cancel the PPI and they have also stated that my husband would have been covered under the policy if he became involuntary unemployed, would this have also covered him being unable to work due to illness/accident as his business would not have stopped, he just wouln't have been able to work for a while?
We were not made aware that we were paying PPI on the credit card and definately never agreed to it, since they do not have the original documentation can they insist we took this out voluntarily?
Should we go back to them saying we do not agree with their decision and to look at it again and if so what points should we highlight? Or are we best of taking it to FOS?
Thank you for your advise, we want to carry on with the claim as we think it is unfair but are unsure of what to do next.0 -

exactly, why use a claims company when you can do the thing yourself. Very well done.:tCurrent loan £12,295, Overdraft £550, Natwest C/Card £1295, - AIM - TO SMASH THE JOLLY LOT
PPI Success: Lloydstsb loan £2,600 :T, Lloydstsb Visa Credit Card £3,2250 -
Lloyds/Blackhorse definetely seem to be playing hardball regarding PPI.
They just seem to be churning out the same rejection letters.0
