PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

I reclaimed just over £7000 from Northern Rock and Natwest. Was going to go with a claims company but then realised how easy it was and kept all the money myself. Woo-hoo !0

Some amazing stories of successful PPI claims on this forum. Great to hear.
Mine was an Abbey National credit card, that migrated over to MBNA part way through.
I put in the claim to MBNA and they very quickly agreed to settle. Still waiting for more details of how much - they said it could take up to 12 weeks to calculate and send a cheque. But it should be all PPI payments plus some interest.
MBNA have passed it back to Abbey, or whoever looks after their PPI claims now. Hope to hear from them soon.0 -

Claiming yourself seems to be the way to go. If the process is simple enough, why not give it a try. The worst that can happen is they say no.
Why let a middle man take a slice of your refund for doing very little.0 -
Hi, after reading numerous success stories on this forum and following the instructions/advice found here, I have recently had two successes on claims for PPI misselling on loans with Abbey National (Santandar) and RBS.
So far I have received back £5100 (from Santandar) and have received an offer from RBS of approx £2100. Still awaiting a reply from HFC (after sending another letter).
Total time time from first letter to receipt of first money was 7 weeks. I'm so pleased and thanks to this site and every one for their advice posted.
I'll keep trying with HFC....0 -

Would one of the Forum gurus please take a look at my post #30819 ( http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=54757745&postcount=30819 ) and give me some advice, if you have time? Thank you - the help you give on here is so much appreciated.
:AI incurred the debt, I repaid the debt - all of it!DMP started with CCCS 20/07/2007 Was £32,735. Paid off all my creditors (June 2013) 7 yrs ahead of original DFD.

Hi,
Not sure if I'm posting in the right place.
First the good news, I received two lovely letters in the post this morning. One from M&S and one from Halifax, both refunds of just over £1000 for front-loaded PPI. :T
Now the bad news, we have a secured loan which was taken out in May 2005 with GE Money (was First National). As the 8 weeks from making our complaint is now up I gave them a call today and they haven't upheld. They have said this is because we are time - barred. I'm don't understand what this means because our account is still open and we're still paying them every month.
Can anyone please give me some advice on what we should do next.
Our complaint was that the PPI was front-loaded and the cover ended in 2010 while the loan still has years to run.0 -
