  • Thanks amersall I did wonder. They did say because it's over 6 years. The reason I complained was because it was single premium and we were not made aware that the policy was single premium and we were not made aware that it would not cover us for the life of the loan and additional interest would continue for the life of the loan. I will write to them again with the information you have given me. Thanks again.

    Can anyone help ??

Recieved an offer letter dated 25th of July from LloydsTSB.
Just wondering if anyone can tell me how long they take to either send a cheque or as I am a LloydsTSB customer, pay in to my account ??
I know they have 28 days from the 25th....do they normally take a full 28 days ?? Surely it can't take that long to write a cheque!!

Thanks, and good luck to everyone.

    Hi

Can I just ask when did u first put your complaint in?

Javorb, i,ve just had another rejection letter from lloyd,s. Same as you single premium. I,ve spent 35 mins on the phone this afternoon trying to speak to a guy I could barely understand all he eventually said was "if you have anymore info post it to us"
    Total waste of time.
This is my 2nd rejection from lloyds , the 1st one i replied by post on the 18th guy today confirmed they had received it today? It was recorded and delivered on the 20th
Be prepared for a long wait. I know there is still the fos route but surely this shouldn,t be necessary with single premium.

Hi all, just wanted to update you with my claim. I haven't been on much in the past fortnight as I had been getting a bit down... so many people were getting such positive results so quickly and Halifax were slow to respond (although within the 8 weeks it just felt long!) and on the 4-5 times I phoned nobody could/would update me via the telephone. Anyway, happily I got a letter from them this morning, I originally sent my questionnaire early June, got a letter from them on 14th June saying the matter would be investigated and that it could take up to 8 weeks for a conclusion... then nothing. Today I received a letter offering £1762.11. I am so delighted, as soon as the payment clears I am booking a holiday for next summer for my hubby and our two young girls. We have never been on holiday before and spend each month scrimping and saving to pay off our debts so I am being cheeky and booking a nice break for us instead of paying it off our loan.:o
So the figures are broken down as follows (on a £8000 loan that was paid off in 2006):
    Refund of premiums £772.52
    Refund of interest £121.45
    Early settlement difference £341.90
Interest at 8% calculated up until 22 Aug 2012 £526.24

Thank you to everyone on this site for the reassurance, the advice, the support and the hope. For those of you still waiting, it won't be long now - enjoy the money whether it is spent frivilously or sensibly lots of love and happy thoughs :j
    :j:jHi natalie:beer:

    Congratulations.

Go and enjoy a holiday if you so wish;) we don't have to be sensible all the time.

Everyone, especially children, need to have happy memories:D

I put mine in on the 20th June and had a call last week asking the same questions as I have already answered. I asked the question how long and the lady I spoke to said I will get an answer within the next 2 weeks but I won't hold my breath if yours was put in back in April :(

The lady I had was having trouble to speak English and I couldn't really understand what she was saying.
