Did you pay the PPI in with the loan payment each month? if you did, this is Single Premium PPI and this is the reason you give for mis sell, this was a loan on the loan paid to term end with interest, if you cancelled the PPI they would have given you a pro rata rebate of the PPI and the remaining PPI is still on the loan to term end.

If you settled this loan early then, as above, you would have a pro rata rebate and you would have paid back the remaining PPI in with the settlement figure.
You only need the account number and reasons for mis sell to make a claim.

Thanks for getting back to me, sorry for putting my post in the wrong thread.. I paid the PPI with the loan every month, (it came as a package, so to speak) I think it was about £80-£90 a month PPI, paid it on time every month for years, until I lost my job then I still paid it for a few months using savings and then stopped altogether when I ran out of money!

As you are a bankrupt, any redress (should it be awarded) will be classed as an asset and will be seized by the Official Receiver for distribution to your creditors.

So don't waste any more time with this.

  • Got a good item of post today!

PPI refund from HFC banks for all my premiums I paid :). Its enough to finally get rid of that card (after 7 yrs!) with a little bit left over.

I am so pleased I found the inspiration to come onto this website & get my debts sorted. Thank you for all your help!

Just hope I'm as lucky with the 5 bank loans I've had . . .

Have a good weekend everyone x

Ah. Just had my letter back from lloyds saying they won't uphold my complaint :( Truth is, loans are old and I wasnt sure whether I had ppi or not until I enquired at the bank. The letter states they are not paying on the grounds of 'consent to cover' meaning I signed a seperate section to confirm I wanted cover. I can't remember clearly enough whether or not this was fully explained.
I have 28 days to write/ring them to contest or 6 months to contact the ombudsman. Should I just let it go or fight on? Any advice greatly appreciated.
    Thanks x

hi there how old are your loans?
if they are pre 2000 then i would have thought they would have no paperwork after all they say do not keep records after 7 years or so.what the hell is ()Consent To Cover thats new to me never heard of it.but i do lead a very sheltered life . i think its a fob off and challenge it ask to see copy of paperwork
