I have made a claim for recovery of PPI using your template and sent it direct to Black Horse as I had all the details to hand. They have advised that they are not responsible as they did not sell me the policy and that the garage where I bought the car and took out the loan are responsible. Is this correct and if so can I still claim back the PPI?

Carol, check post number 30809 above. This is correct and yes you can reclaim PPI from the dealer. At least your finance company had the decency to tell you this.
  • After making my complaint to Lloyds about being mis-sold a credit card PPI, I received my offer within the 8 weeks, of £163 + interest for the 16 months I had the card, i know it isn't a massive sum of money, but considering I no longer have the card, if I hadn't complained I wouldn't be that bit better off!!

Thanks to all those who post comps, you're amazing!!:T

    Hi All

i have just been rejected for my lloyds credit card. The basis of my complaint was the ppi was not explained properly to me and i had excellent cover elsewhere eg critical illness redundancy cover and life insurance, i took out the card in 2002. in my rejection letter it states that everything would have been explained in my policy booklet and that i took out the cover on the phone when i activated my card not when i applied. My question is i have seen a usefull quote from the fos being used in reples where it says that you can not use not reading policy booklet as a reason for rejection. Does anyone have this quote that i can put in my reply as i have 28 days to provide more info. Thanks
  • I took out a loan with Ford Credit for a car in 2004 (dealer was Allan Ford) and I clearly remember discussing and agreeing to GAP insurance. However, when looking through my paperwork for other claims, I note that I was charged for PPI. I have the insurance paperwork but not my original loan paperwork. Since Allan Ford was not regulated in 2004, is it worth attempting a claim on the basis of the GAP vs PPI mis-sale and the fact that I had an excellent package with my employers which would have covered sickness etc.
I incurred the debt, I repaid the debt - all of it!:o DMP started with CCCS 20/07/2007 Was £32,735. Paid off all my creditors (June 2013) 7 yrs ahead of original DFD.
    PPI claims won against Barclays x 2/ Egg x 1/ LV x . PPI claims rejected and then upheld Barclays/Egg x 2

After having looked up some of my old paperwork, I have found that I was paying just over £90 a month for TMPP ( total mortgage payment protection policy) with the Halifax on a £ 68,000 mortgage.
I think its unlikely that I will get a refund as I signed on the dotted line, but I have worked for the NHS since 1989 and have got all the cover that the NHS provides including my superannuation, so really did not need the cover at all.

I have put in a claim anyway so will see what happens

    Hi all,
well after receiving just over £850 a few weeks ago for a credit card with LloydsTSB I am awaiting news on other loans with them and also sent a mortgage refusal with them to the Ombudsman. My wife is also waiting on two loans sent to them. We have had letters for each of these items requesting a further 8 weeks.

I also managed to talk my mum into ringing LloydsTSB about a consolidation loan she had taken out some years ago. She wasn't really interested but I explained what she needed to do and sat with her as she rang them. Today she got a letter back upholding her complaint for just over £15000.

She can't believe it and is over the moon. Thanks for all your help on here guys and girls as without you none of us would have even bothered.

Fingers crossed now for our other claims. Big kisses to you all!!

    PPI Party Pooper
£22,990 from First Direct today, all for the price of a couple of stamps! I was physically shaking when I read the letter from them. Thank you so, so much for the template letters and guidance.
  • Offer of just over £2k received from Lloyds TSB yesterday for an old loan. I had an offer from Egg last week for an old loan (£832) and am waiting on a decision on the Egg credit card (I am told it is taking longer to deal with credit cards than loans from egg). M&S said they have no records of whether I had PPI on my loans (flipping cop out I say as Lloyds and Egg are older and have records) but I have no paperwork so don't think I can do anything about them. Well done everybody. Roni3 that is a life changing amount, well done!!!
