So yesterday I got a letter from HSBC offering my £8,420 against my loans and today they sent me a letter offering me £2,275.28 against my credit card! Would have been more if I'd got my old statements cos they only went back to 2005, but still a lot more than I was expecting!0

Through a PPI Claim company, I claimed back PPI from M&S Money and the amount it turned out that I was owed was over £7000!!!! WOW So they asked me to send a form agreeing to this amount and a bank statement so they could pay it all back!! The PPI claim company spoke to M&S Money as they were dragging their fee -M&S Money confirmed that I would have the money in my account before 27th July - so last week I bought some french doors and a laptop on my husbands credit card - just under £5000.
Phoned today to see when the money was actually going in and they have changed their minds and are paying it into some accounts that are being managed by a debt management company.
I am devastated and dont know what to do - they had confirmed twice that the money was coming to me directly and had also confirmed verbally to the PPI Claim company.
I am now a great deal worse off than I was before making the claim!!!!0 -

I am soooooo excited today, Turns out the letter which went missing from the bank did not actually give a revised redress, but details of how the bank is going to work it out.
I got an offer of £300 based on payments for 2005/06 back in around April time, saying the bank did not have records going any further back. At the beginning of May, sent them statements and agreements going back to 1995.
They are now going to use the payment amount I gave them for 1995-2006, give me back those payments, as well as working out an average of these backdated to when I opened the account in 1983 or 4!!!!!
They were not huge amounts, between £8.30 and £13.40 per month, but I am absolutely thrilled. Don't want to try work out how much it will be, would rather wait for the surprise, but I think this offer is more than fair.
As some of you who have helped me know, I have been despairing of the whole thing at times, am so, so grateful for all your help and support which kept me going, I can't tell you.
Still can't quite believe it, and probably won't until I see a figure and it's actually cleared in my bank, but will update when I have more info.
Thank you and for anyone else who's battling, keep on and listen to the people on here who give their expertise so willingly.0 -
Just thought I'd post a big thank you to everyone on this forum that takes the time to help and advise people, like myself, on the ins and outs of claiming mis-sold PPI etc.
After following the instructions and using the templates on this forum, we have today recieved a letter from Loans.co.uk making us an offer of £24,791.86 in settlement for our PPI claim.
Well after I'd read the letter 2 or 3 times and asked my wife to confirm what I was reading, I think we'll accept their very kind offer ;-)
So once again, thanks to Martin and the team for setting up the Templates and the FAQs. I've already pointed 3 or 4 of my colleagues this way to help them claim their PPI back.
Regards

Hi,
Just a quick question which I hope I can get some guidance on (apologies if answered elsewhere on the forum). I've just been made an offer regarding PPI on my Mint card , a very nice £12,000 :j , !and its mentioned on the offer letter that it would be paid against any existing balance or I would be sent as a cheque if the account is closed.
My question (s) is, the card currently has a balance of £3200 on it, would I expect to see an eventual cheque for £8800 or would I be better off clearing the existing balance, closing account and then sending back acceptance letter? My is that it would be a longer process if they first have to pay off balance and then issue me the remainder by cheque.
I was surprised to see the offer letter also included "erroneous charges" which was a nice additional £1000 that made up the overall figure.
Thanks again for all your help. Of the four PPI complaints I sent, all four have been upheld

As you are in a DMP the claims co should not have taken your claim on as this would incur you another debt due to the fee they charge, give the MOJ a call and complain about this company, you need to complain to the company as well because if you don't you will have the bill from them to pay too.
If the win is being taken off the plan, you will get nothing back to you as they can clear debts with this.

They have to put the redress onto the card to then take it off and issue a cheque so it may be worth keeping the account open so that they can do this, if the card is closed, this may delay the payment to you.
When they put the redress back to the card, don't withdraw any of it, wait for the cheque to come as they will charge interest on and the cash fee for the withdrawal.0
