    Hi Longy 123
Thank you for your update , it sounds like a very similar scenario and I feel more optimistic now. The timescale is better than expected too!
    Keep me posted
    Many thanks

    Hi Moose2003

Will do the 10 week clock starts ticking on Friday
  • just a quick question on this

i note on the original letter you can send to the bank you can tick for somebody else on your behalf?

am i ok to do this on behalf of an elderly and confused family member? id rather not use a claims company but wanted to check i could write on there behalf.

also is it worthwhile sending a simple letter even without account numbers on to set the ball rolling?

    many thanks in advance

sorry to drag this back up

have started the process of helping my elderly relative and its a bit of a minefield

having looked at the credit reports together online the biggest "debt" was a northern rock mortgage which he is sure was sold with some form of ppi (have no paperwork) my question on this is what is the best contact address to use for northern rock considering they are no more?

    many thanks i appreciate it
  • Credit Card - Barclaycard

My husband has had a credit card with Barclaycard since 2001. When he applied by post, he was contacted by telephone and advised to take out the PPI insurance. He was given the impression that the approval was subject to this. I completed the reclaim form provided by MSE and sent it off to Barclaycard. Two weeks later we had a reply to confirm receipt of our complaint and that it was being investigated and we would have a reply by 20th July 2012. On Saturday (21st July) we received a letter to advise that our complaint had been upheld and Barclaycard offered a refund of £2686!!
Thank you MSE - well worth the price of a stamp. :T

I never ever thought I'd be posting a success story - things like this just don't happen to me...but here I am :j

I sent off for a copy of my credit card agreement mid May and when I received it back, I'd ticked the no to PPI box. I just phoned on the off chance, never imagining I'd paid it...but lo and behold they told me I'd paid it for 7 years.

I sent in my claim form mid June and received a letter upholding my complaint 2 weeks ago saying they were calculating my refund. Thanks to a super helpful person on here who inboxed me, I emailed the CEO to chase them up - they said I'd receive my response within 7 business days.

That time was up on Friday so I phoned them - and a cheque was posted that day for £2359 :j

Still in shock - I can't believe how easy it's been not using a claims company.

I still have 3 other questionnaires in with Lloyds and HSBC but am over the moon with just this one, so any extra would knock me sideways lol.

Thank you to all of you for making this possible
