Called Santander last week to see if they had received my complaint questionaire that i sent at the start of June. They had'nt so they took the complaint over the phone. They said that looking at my account they could see there was PPI on the 'Debenhams Card' before the card was cancelled.
Called today for a update and got told a letter had been sent out on the 16th July. Cant wait to get home now and see if its arrived.
Already had success with NatWest to the tune of £3000. Accepetance letter sent back today.
Had others with Egg and NatWest credit card but turns out no PPI on those.
    Just waiting for HSBC now.
    Chuffed!

Hi, just after a bit of advice please.

I've just had a rejection letter for Barclays but not for the reason I thought I would.
I had a loan with them from Dec 97 - Aug 99 and even though I had the agreement I did expect them to reject it as I had no bank statements to prove payments. My reason for complaint was that it was single premium PPI and that I had work benefits that would cover me.
Today I have received what looks like a standard rejection letter saying that they have conducted a complete review and one of the points is that whether the sales rep would have taken into account propensity to refinance , rule 78 , cost of the policy etc. This is their final response and they make me aware I have the option of going to the FOS.
I've just called the FOS and they have said as I have this rejection letter they must still have my details on file.
So.....I know there's a huge wait at the FOS and I don't want to add to it if this is waste of time but should I go ahead with opening a complaint through the FOS?
The total of the PPI payments paid was £634

    Thanks:)

hi need sme advice please .well i have had a claim going with ford for ppi on a car from 2004 it was being dealt with through a claims company ,the claim has been going on for 7 months and now ford credit have sent their final response saying that they wont uphold my claim as its out of the time frame, also it cant be dealt with by the fos or fsa.i have e mailed the girl from the claims company to see if theres anything further that can be done and she said the only thing i could do is write to the insurance company myself but in her experience this is not very successful.is it worth me trying writing to this insurance company or am i completely wasting my time?anyone had any luck in doing this?dont even know what to put on the letter if i do.i had my first car in 2004 at which time i paid off £1,000 to keep the cost down so i only had to have car finance for 4,000 they then sold me this ppi policy giving me the impression that it would affect the decision of car finance if i didnt take it.the ppi was 20.00 a month over 4 years at no point did i realise i could cancell the policy.with being my first car i was eager to get finance so signed up for this ppi .if i had thought about it was a silly mistake as obviously why would i pay 1,000 off my car to keep cost down then ad another 1,000 on for this policy.i feel i was ill advised and now just keep getting fobbed off.it seems very unfair that they can just give the excuse that its out of time frame and thats it decision made;(fed up with these companies.ok rant overx
  • Hi guys, so I've just received my first offer from Lloyds TSB credit cards PPI, they've offered me £167 which broken down is a refund of what I've payed, plus £1 interest.

The circumstances of my claim were that I was aware I had PPI on this account, but the grounds of my complaint are that at the time of the telephone call to sign up for this, they did not ask if I had any underlying health conditions as this may affect me if I needed to make a claim.

I'm registered disabled as I had a head injury a few years ago which left me with long term disabilities. So I wonder whether I should reject the offer and seek compensation on top as it's more the principle of them not asking this question, and me not being able to claim if I had an accident related to my condition which, say, put me out of work for example, which I believe the cover is in place to protect? (god forbid though!)

It's a few hundred pounds, but that would mount up with the 8% interest going back so many years.
It's really your call, if you feel it's worth pursuing and you don't mind waiting for a year or more then go for it.
    Good luck.

You can officially complain to the Finance and Leasing Association who will follow up your claim. They are a trade association who oversee all their member companies.

Hello, I have today had two letters from Barclays in reltion to PPI. They have maid an offer on one and rejected the other. Both cards were taken at the same time, one was Visa and one was Mastercard.
Why reject one and offer on the other? should I take the rejection further?
  • Gloucestershire Police are warning the public once again about fraudsters taking advantage of people making Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) compensation claims.
It comes after a woman from Slimbridge was defrauded out of hundreds of pounds.

Yesterday, Wednesday July 18, the woman received a call from an international number. The caller claimed that the woman had been awarded with a PPI compensation claim in connection to a loan some years ago.

The caller instructed the woman to pay a commission fee of £655 in Ukash vouchers, stating that in return she’d receive a £3200 payment by courier.

The victim made the payment but no money has been received.

I incurred the debt, I repaid the debt - all of it!:o DMP started with CCCS 20/07/2007 Was £32,735. Paid off all my creditors (June 2013) 7 yrs ahead of original DFD.
    PPI claims won against Barclays x 2/ Egg x 1/ LV x . PPI claims rejected and then upheld Barclays/Egg x 2

    Hi All,

Many thanks to this website - just received a payment of £1200 into my barclays account with the reference 'PPI + Interest' :j:j:j:j

My question is this: we've had no offer letter, acknowledgement etc. just the payment. I sent 4 separate forms for 4 separate loans - is this likely to be a payment for all of them or just one?
Not being greedy just looking ahead, you know??:o:o:o

    Many thanks.
This could be for one, when you have all the deposits they should send you the calculations.
