Nikkirez, or anyone else, How can you tell if a loan is front loaded with ppi if you don't have the all your original forms etc?
If the loan is front loaded, the insurance won't show as a separate entry on your statement each month, as it will have been added to the loan at the start to give a monthly repayment amount. Therefore, you'd pay interest on the insurance and the loan, which is why this was so unfair.0 -
Just received and accepted a ppi offer of £155.79. Took a small personal loan in 2001 and did not know that ppi was included. After 1 phone call and completing a short questionnaire an offer has been made. Phoned Barclaycard today as I had heard nothing after sending my claim at the beginning of May. The nice young man told me a letter had been sent on 30 June, rejecting my claim. I have asked for a copy to be sent out, and will start the FOS route.I incurred the debt, I repaid the debt - all of it!
DMP started with CCCS 20/07/2007 Was £32,735. Paid off all my creditors (June 2013) 7 yrs ahead of original DFD.

Hello - Newbie alert! I've been reading this forum regularly with interest. I have sent off a Template letter and FOS form (both from this site - Thanks!) to HSBC about mis-sold PPI on my Credit Card and have yet to hear anything from them. I sent them nearly 3 weeks ago. Do I have cause for concern? Should I chase them up? Or should I re-send the letter and form ( I have copies)?
Thank you in advance
If you are with HSBC call them up they will check their system all letters are scanned in (supposedly) so they will be able to let you know straight away. I received my response about 2 1/2 weeks after sending off, enclosing a questionnaire that I was to fill out if I hadn't already sent one. I had sent them three. I'm waiting on a response from M&S too. Submitted complaint end of May. How long has it taken for you to receive the offer from putting claim in if you don't mind me asking?0 -

Help!!!
I had to call HSBC to chase up my claim on a loan from 2003/4 who told me it had been rejected, and issued a letter dated 2nd June stating this. I told them I never received a letter so they sent a copy. It reads...
Having searched the HSBC records, I cannot find any evidence of that PPI was attached to the above product.
Due to the data protection act, HSBC cannot keep records indefinatley therefore if your PPI commenced over 6 years ago, any records may have been destroyed.
To enable me to proceed further I would be greatful if you could provide me documentation confirming the protection held and accompanying > bank > credit card statements confirming the payments made.....blah blah...
I provided them with a loan account number, but they have no record, so I have to prove I had payment protection, rather they having to prove I did not.....
Yes otherwise anyone would claim!
Am I dead in the water....I dont think I have any evidence of the loan...Any Advice?
Thanks..
Rob.
I think you have had it. They have no evidence you have none. Therefore no go. If you do not believe what they are telling you request a SAR.cost of £10 but it will only confirm what you already know and you will be ten pounds worse off.CC 1 :- £5800/ £5,800 CC2:-[STRIKE] £4513 / £4513[/STRIKE] CC3: £4622.53/ £4622.53[/STRIKE] CC4:- £8971/ £8971[/STRIKE]Loan:- [STRIKE]£1785.63 / £1785.63[/STRIKE] 0

Alliance and Leicester Loan upheld - £800, upheld and paid out within 1 month of complaint (was phone sold so I expected this to be quick)
Lloyds Loan
Lloyds credit card - both rejected, mainly on the fact that we could afford the insurance therefore it was fairly sold, despite only recently finding out that PPI was on the CC!
Have complained to the FOS, how long did others wait for a result from them? their info says up to a year, but I wondered what was typical,0 -
Hi all,
I had an interesting day today. Bout 6 weeks ago my sister said she was going to court and I said I would accompany her, Sis v Blackhorse, today was the day. basically she had about five consecutive loans with Blackhorse, they had paid out for 2, one is with the FOS and Blackhorse would not pay out on this one, all her claims had gone through a claims company, this was before she knew she could do it herself, the company instructed the Solicitor. blackhorse did make a 80% offer, but this was refused.
Barrister ripped Blackhorse rep to bits, she did say to my sister to say the loan was recommended. Absolutely brilliant Barrister, lots of info to say, but basically my sister won, judge said Blackhorse had breached the rules when selling PPI in regards to the script and the questions, not personal to her. Will now recieve preimiums paid + interest, and Blackhorse have to pay legal fees £30,0000 + all because they did not want to pay out £500.00. Made my day.....0 -
Halifax called me today out of the blue asking for more information on my CC PPI claim.
I told them at the time I was in part time employment which would pay out 4x my salary upon my death and life assurance due to being a pension member which is all true.
She asked why I think I was mis-sold the PPI, I informed her that rep informed me without taking the PPI I wouldn't get the CC, and at the time I couldn't really afford or want the PPI but felt that I HAD no choice.
What normally happens next?0
