Hello - Newbie alert! I've been reading this forum regularly with interest. I have sent off a Template letter and FOS form (both from this site - Thanks!) to HSBC about mis-sold PPI on my Credit Card and have yet to hear anything from them. I sent them nearly 3 weeks ago. Do I have cause for concern? Should I chase them up? Or should I re-send the letter and form ( I have copies)?
Thank you in advance0 -

This is the first post on here for me, i'm a long time lurker. Anyway, I finally took the plunge and using the DIY guide on this site I tried to reclaim the PPI on an old Egg Loan.
Long story short, they upheld my complaint and I have received a cheque for nearly £7000. We're absolutely over the moon with this, and the money has gone a long way towards helping us get Debt Free by 2017 (our 5 year plan...hence the username).
Just wanted to say a huge 'Thank You' to the site, as without your guidance, I don't think i'd have faced doing it on my own.0 -

Nikkirez, or anyone else, How can you tell if a loan is front loaded with ppi if you don't have the all your original forms etc?0 -
Help!!!
I had to call HSBC to chase up my claim on a loan from 2003/4 who told me it had been rejected, and issued a letter dated 2nd June stating this. I told them I never received a letter so they sent a copy. It reads...
Having searched the HSBC records, I cannot find any evidence of that PPI was attached to the above product.
Due to the data protection act, HSBC cannot keep records indefinatley therefore if your PPI commenced over 6 years ago, any records may have been destroyed.
To enable me to proceed further I would be greatful if you could provide me documentation confirming the protection held and accompanying > bank > credit card statements confirming the payments made.....blah blah...
I provided them with a loan account number, but they have no record, so I have to prove I had payment protection, rather they having to prove I did not.....
Am I dead in the water....I dont think I have any evidence of the loan...Any Advice?
Thanks..
