    Hi all

just had a letter from the FOS they have upheld my complaint against MBNA who have agreed to make an offer as a gesture of good will and with no admission of liability so it's sit back and wait for the figures now within 10 week from 27 July

Sent to FOS in March after original refusal from MBNA so very pleased with timescales
    • What were you reclaiming: loans
    • Who was the provider: MBNA
    • How much did you get back: £4400
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Template questionnaire off this site
A massive thank you to everybody on this site for their support and guidance. Didn't think for a minute that I had PPI on any loans I had because I didn't need it or want it or ask for it!! But went through folders and boxes in the loft and found old paperwork in April. In May had letter back saying they were going to investigate but it was going to take longer than expected. Kept waiting for postman each day and finally had letter last week saying it was upheld and they were going to get back to me with an amount. More anxious waiting for the post and then finally yesterday had letter detailing 3 loans (consolidation) that we had had with MBNA with a grand total of £4400 - cheque to follow in up to 28 days.
Absolutely over the moon - wouldn't have known about this without this sites forum - thank you again to evrybody.

Every time I came to this site Martin was insisting that we all claimed back ppi, Eventually I could stand it no longer, so I rang LLoydstsb Expecting to be stonewalled, but no. I was put through to someone who gave me all the info i needed. 4 weeks later and hayho £16,000 better off. A BIG thank you to Martin and the team. You are def on my Christmas card list

Wow only 4 weeks from start to finish with Lloyds TSB, i am very impressed, I also phoned them and started the ball rolling, its about about 3 weeks ago now they are looking into 7 loans from the past, 3 of them were joint loans with hubby,
i am addicted to this site but keep reading how Lloyds take so long to sort it all out, it gives me a bit of hope its not going to drag on for months and months:j

    hi,
I dont know if this is of any use to you but I have just filed a claim for what I have estimated to be £2000+ (this figure was provided to me by LoansDirect, I might add), of mis-sold Loan PPI with Lloyds TSB, he advised me that I should recieve an acknowledgement letter within 5 days and recieve a decision within 8 weeks. I dont know if there are any complications with yours however mine is a simple case of "you want PPI, it improves your chances of getting the loan" x3

Not sure if that helps you or not but thought I should let you know as my claim is new as of today.

    Thanks

You might as well be aware now that this kind of hearsay complaint has very little chance of being upheld because it's impossible to prove.
You may be lucky and the Bank identify other mis-selling reasons too, but this really is the weakest form of complaint.

OK I am a little confused. I was getting 6 payments (each with own ref numbers) totalling around £17,000 after tax on interest. I received 5 texts today saying hey had been paid and could take upto 7 days. The 6th was was missing which was worth around £10,000.

I have just checked my bank and the 5 payments are a lot less than they should be, and what I signed for. Is this normal? Could the bank statements be wrong as it did say upto 7 days.

Also the big amount hasn't gone in yet and how much less is that likely to be?

    Worried? Yes.

Thank you very much for your free advice. This was so simple to do. I had two loans from Egg taken out in 2005 with PPI. I filled in the template letter and claim sent it off. Got an immediate holding letter from Egg saying they would deal with the complaint in four weeks, then another holding letter and lo and behold two weeks later SUCCESS.
They upheld the complaint were refunding all of the cost of PPI plus the interest charge on that + 8% interest in recompense. Came to a total of £3500.
So simple, if you have a claim then just do it. It took less than 30 minutes to write the letter and fill in the form + a stamp to get all that money back. Fantastic.
Thank you again - marvellous work

Thats good to have it sorted in 4 weeks!:T I'm on my 4 weeks today and still waiting. I rang TSB on Friday last week just to see if there was any update on my 4 complaints but was told still being looked at and they are still in the 8 week bracket so no update yet. Fingers crossed it won't be longer than the 8 week bracket as like some other people on here.

Just received results of a sar from capital one. i knew i had no ppi on the latest card but wanted to check the previous one (2003) suprisingly i got all agreements and statements back and as i thought no ppi.
Still think this was £10 well spent as i now know for sure.

However, whilst scrutinising everything capital one returned i was shocked to read details of someone else. nothing too drastic no account details, passwords, but i was give name, address, date of birth and phone number of someone unknown to me.

If i,m getting someone else,s details who,s getting mine?

Is there no wonder the banks are held in so low esteem. They can,t even get the basic,s right.

I've seen that kind of thing before, unfortunately, which just makes it all the more a matter of concern.

Also might want to note that never having had PPI is a win in itself!:T
