I sent mine off may 14th, got a letter on 27th June saying it may take additional 8 weeks which is 3rd September
Anyway Ive been calling regularly to see "what point of the process my complaint is at" and have been told it was no longer in the queue since 14th June and was being dealt with, obviously thats 4 weeks ago.
I know I am being impatient but this was front loaded ppi which i strongly believe i am entitled back. I dont do waiting well and if I wasnt getting anything id rather know asap so i dont get my hopes up lol
How long is everyone elses *currently* taking?0 -
After waiting 9 weeks for Lloyds to make a decision on my Loan PPI, I gave them a ring today and asked what the hold up was. Was told that they are currently recieving 1'500 claims per week and so are sending out letters asking for another 4 weeks! I asked how far mine had progressed and was told that 9 items had been given the green light, and the only thing waiting was the calculation of the rebate amount. I said to the young lad, "I take it, this means my claim has been upheld", he replied " I suppose it does". Honestly how long does it take a bank to calculate a few figures?
just posted the exact same thing (almost) I have no idea if mine is being upheld or not! SO frustrated!0 -
I sent my claim forms to Barclays, The Mortgage Business and HSBC on 6th June. I've had no correspondence at all, no acknowledgement letter or anything. Is this unusual?
Many thanks in advance.0 -

I have a claim for a Burtons card taken out in 1991 and closed 2 years ago. I have a confirmation letter from GE Money that my account is closed so i have sent my claim to them. I have since received an acknowledgment stating the usual 8 week period. This may be a delaying tactic as maybe I should have sent it to Santander so am considering sending it to them as well. Not sure if this helps or not.0 -
MBNA Update
Claim submitted 8/6/2012, letter upholding 4/7/2012. Got the standard letter confirming 12 weeks to reconstruct my credit card payments, but seen on here that some are getting their figures sooner so thought I would chance it and rang them, spoke to a very nice lady who said it was still waiting to be done as they are inundated and with the number they have in process at the moment it is likely to be nearer the 12 week mark when this is done :-( will give it a few more weeks and ring.
MBNA have been far the fastest with the 4 claims i have in - Capital One, Barclaycard, Burtons. Barclaycard did start investigating before I completed the form and I never asked them to I only rang to cancel the policy and they seem to have taken it that I wanted to complain.
Did anyone ever find out what the colour coded dots on their envelopes were - mine was orange, and my claim reference started 2001, i applied for the card in 1997. Does that have a bearing on the ref no if anyone has noticed?0 -
Just had a letter back from capital 1 eight weeks since you applied and there will be another 4 week delay due to huge volume recived. I accutual sent the letter 4 weeks before this.

Thanks ariell
I received an acknowledgement 2 weeks after I put my claim in 8/6/2012) stating 8-10 weeks so based on your update i guess mine going to take longer. Might be a nice christmas present at this rate :-(0 -
Is it possible that the £40 is tax deducted? I think Natwest are one of the few that do deduct the tax from the interest.
I would ring them and ask.Moneyineptitude wrote: »Very likely the answer is yes, especially as we can have no way of knowing what amount Y and amount X are! This sounds as if it could be
No this (Y) is the nett amount of interest (£1842 in 1st letter) and approx £1800 was paid out. Another 9 letters en route, so we will see what is in them before ringing.0 -
After putting in a claim for missold PPI with Loans.co.uk x 2 and having to forward to the ombudsman this was 3m ago I know it can take 12m or more, I took a look at our mortgage with Nationwide and low and behold we have a ppi with them just in my husbands name.. we were shocked as didnt even think for 1 minute that we did. I contacted them and filled in the relevant forms to complain 3 wks later a refusal stating that although my husband is paid in full for 6m and half pay for 6m they state that he can still put in a claim when on full pay ro half pay if he is sick or disabled also the fact we didnt realised we had it was left out completely .... I really dont understand... how that works.. am going to give them a ring to explain... should I still take it to the ombudsman.... confused..0

Another success, this time for my mum.
I checked to see if my mum had ppi on old Barclays Loan.Got her to send a ppi questionnaire.
They were quick sending update letters and 8 weeks from start to finish got ppi claim upheld based on 5 loans over 10yr period.
reduced her debt by 80%.
Barclays were great,straight forward.Result
Very Happy Mum :j0
