  • Hi:

I've talked to Barclays and also sent a letter requesting PPI info for both my loan and Credit Card from them. They told me by definite neither of them has got PPI. So I gave up. A few days ago, my husband found some paperwork for the Barclays loan and it clearly stated that there's ppi on it. So we are going to write a complaint letter to FOA and send the copy of the agreement as well. My question here is because I don't have any paperwork for my Credit Card, shall I just leave it? If not, what shall I do? I've been paying the cc for years, totally paying them more than 60,000. So if I have paid ppi on them, it's a lot of money.

I just wanted to thank the helpful people on this website. I found out today that the ppi claim on an Egg loan I had between 2003, paid off early in 2005 was upheld. For just filling out a questionnaire from this website and paying for a stamp, I am now £2341 better off. I didn't think I stood a chance as the loan was closed off in 2005 but it just shows, nothing ventured nothing gained.

I am still waiting to hear re ppi on a loan I had from Tesco Personal Finance which was closed in 2003 but I am now a bit more optimistic.

Like I said, thanks to all the helpful people on this website. You really don't need to use these ppi claims companies.

Unfortunately, your paperwork is not categoric evidence that you had PPI. The agreement only shows if PPI was initially agreed to, not if you cancelled it during the 30 day cooling off period or subsequently.
As for your credit card, it's a simple matter to check if you have PPI because, if you have it, it appears every month on your statement. If it's not on there, you don't have it.

So, before you rush off to complain to the official bodies, I'd write to the Bank and ask them about the discrepancy between your paperwork and what they stated with regard PPI non-payment.
  • I have double check from paperwork that's include ppi, I don't recall that we have cancel anything. Also we've been paying the same amount until now. It's very likely that it is still there. I think that I have a case here and I will contact Barclays again this Monday and see what they say. Thank you.
  • Any one know where to write the complaint about it? I've not got the statements but I know there's ppi in it. Where can I get the statements? Any address that I can get from here?

If you are adamant that they have information showing PPI then phone first and see what they say. If they say they cannot find any details apply for a SAR request and request all information that they hold on you. Costs £10 and you will find a template on here. The bank must give you any details they hold on you, but you must follow the template and not request specific information.

This will only likely be information from the last 6 years.

You will also find addresses for all major banks in

Looking for any advice please.....took out a debenhams store card in 1995 was pressured into taking ppi protection and accepted. I cancelled 5 years later and have recently put in a claim for misold ppi. It was rejected on the grounds that I ticKed the ppi box. Do you think I can pursue this claim further as they have said that they are closing this case now

    Having trouble with Natwest.
I called up on the 3rd July for a progress report and was told an offer letter had been sent out in the post. I am still waiting for that letter. I have asked them to resend it and checked the address they have.
They have given me a breakdown on how much is owed.
I asked if they could fax a copy of the letter to my local branch but they said they cant.
How long am i expected to wait for a letter? Second class (as they have stated) dont take that long to come.

    Hi folks,

Just had success claiming refund from MBNA credit card I had back in 2005. Sent questionaire on 29/06/12, received standard "we're investigating your complaint" letter on 10/07/12 and "we're upholding your complaint" letter on 11/07/12. Just awaiting refund!
No idea why people use PPi claims company's when it's so simple to do yourself! Big thank you for all on the forum for their inspiration! :)
